Use the touchstrip (I believe it's the very last touch control on the right).

Check your display settings, if they show the integrated 9400 instead of the 260M, then that's your problem.

If you turned on with battery power and your 260 was turned off (because of that) even restarting the machine plugged to power you can still have the 260 turned off this happened to me several times. I find this annoying it should'nt it be turned on always after restart if plugged to power?, am I missing something?

Other than that crysis works great on high settings on my M17x, it only starts lagging when antialiasing is set to 8x, or when everything is set to ultrahigh ( or whatever is called, not in front of crysis Now)

No. That would be uncalled for at this point. As other posters said in your side topic thread, Crysis is a very demanding game. Continue to inspect your settings and optimize before doing a fresh install!

Glad to hear you fixed it. My review M17x came in Stealth mode as well, and it took me a while to figure it out. Alienware putting the M17x in Stealth mode by default doesn't make much sense since I imagine the first thing most customers like yourself are going to do upon arrival is play games.

    That's weird.

Mine came full power with all lights enabled, etc.

Maybe someone at the factory is playing jokes!

That does make no sense. That was exactly what I did when I got mine, well, after I migrated my personal files from my old Toshiba. But my m17x was not in stealth mode when I first got it.

However, I remember now, and confirmed on my packing list, I did pick power plan, and I picked performance....

mine came with everything on too, and using the discrete graphics card, but then I turned it off and when I powered t on again I did not have it plugged to AC and I had to press F1 to resume ( since it was warning me it was on battery power and the discrete card would be turned off) after that I plugged it to power and restarted and It stayed working with the 9400 and not the 260m don't even remember what I did to fix that, I think I turned on and off stealth mode several times and the restarted and I finally got my 260m working again.... from now on I always check my display settings to make sure I'm on the 260 with boost performance on ( hybrid sli)

I've benchmarked with cinebench without hybrid sli on and it does help a bit to use both the 260m and the 9400 with that hybrid thingy.....

Yeah... how did you fix it Kagero? I'm still running on the 9400m... stealth mode is not on. I can't seem to figure out how to go back to discrete.

Fn + F7 will bring up a box saying a system restart is required to switch from Integrated to Discrete graphics. Hit ok, wait for the restart, then play to your heart's content.
