Currently on 1440x900 which is fine for me but are there ways to upgrade the screen to the WUXGA one?

thx for all those quick replies, so what is the difference between the WXGA+ and WUXGA screens apart from the higher resolution. They're still using the same panel and back light for both screens I supposed.

Ya Moo but is there anything that makes the WUXGA superior to WXGA+ apart from resolution difference?

Not superior but if they are different manufactures and you prefer one over the other than that can be different.

I have a legitimate question I can't find an answer to. I have an m17-r1 that my mom bought to try and compete with the desktop I built.. She failed but she has paid quite a bit on this thing and I got all the parts (for my desktop) for cheap so I swapped her and I'm going to pay the last few payments. (then build another monster)

Anyway, for now I am using this m17. I had a 9750 and loved it. It had a glossy high res screen though... I am wondering if anyone knows of any of the do's and don'ts of looking for lcd screens?

I have found several for about any price you can think of. Some of them say they come with "inverters", some say nothing about it...

Also, if i do manage to get the right hardware, I am assuming ati catalyst will not have any trouble recognizing the new display and resuming business as usual?

I have an acer 22 inch monitor with 1050 res to tide me over for now.. I just cant stand a medium resolution matte screen.. my eyes can't take it :(

just look in this thread at the links they have the part # for the Wuxga Screen, its super easy to replace....ive never seen an M17 with a Matte screen though, it must have been changed in the past
