So my friend wants to trade me his M15x for my m17. The specs on his M15x is Core i5 2.53Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 260m, 900p LCd screen. The specs for my m17 are in my sig. So what do you guys think? Should I keep my m17 or trade it for the M15x?

Id make sure his m15x is in good running order and be careful because a trade with a friend can go wrong and ruin a friendship.

I would make a WRITTEN AGREEMENT that includes 'The Trade' AND a 5 day TRADE BACK, if EITHER person doesn't like the unit. 'The Trade' would be CONSIDERED FINAL on the FIRST MINUTE of the SIXTH DAY. That way there is no misunderstanding or possible hard feelings. -h-

Well he got his M15x about 4 months ago and he would come over my house to LAN games so it runs well and there's nothing wrong with it, he just loves the screen on my m17 and the size of it, so he wanted to trade.

I don't do expensive trading or money stuff with friends. It's just something I don't want to deal with.

I don't think you should... =) The material of the m17x is better than the m15x if I remember correctly.

Not to mention the only real upgrade is the cpu.. big whoop.. u lose ram and gpu =\

:) Hope my facts r right.. its 5am here

I say...do a day swap. Each of you tries the others out for a day, if you trust one another enough. If you are both satisfied, go for it. Otherwise, no.

I don't know, going from 17 inches to 15 inches sucks. I'd never get rid of my R2 RGB LED, is all I really know. I have the area-51 m15x as well and I still really like that one too.

I'll just swap with him for a day and see if I like it, if not I'll just keep my m17. If the only upgrade is the cpu then I most likely not keep his M15x. Thanks for the help guys!

yes i would trade it only becuase you can put a 5870 in the M15x and not the M17 and get DX 11 and 40% increease in speed

point awarded to the moo a 5870 is about the speed of dual 3870 so if you'r in for the upgrade you should

That’s right, if you are concerned about speed and 5870, then I would suggest switch to M15x. Just decide upon your requirement and go for it.

Yeah I traded for a couple days and decided it wasn't worth it. Screen size was defiantly more portable but the resolution wasn't high enough for my tastes. I absolutely love the 1920X1200 screen on my m17. I'm just going to wait and get a fully spec'd M17x. :D
