    Hey, guys and girls! :)
I'm planning to get an m15x but I'm not sure whether the build is fast enough.

    M15x
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit (English)
    Intel® Core™ I7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, turbo up to 2.8GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)
    4GB Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 2GB)
    1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 260M

Are these fast enough(as in it'll be running smoothly) for me?
I'll be using it for studies, photo editing, gaming(Crysis, Aion, WoW, etc)

Thank you, guys and girls. Have a nice day! :D

    Studying? It's overkill :D
    Video editing? Yes! For sure!
    Games like Crysis? Not really.

And I doubt there is any girl here :p

Despite what the other poster said, there are a few girls on here. Roxy, in particular, has contributed a great deal to the discussions on this machine.

Second, make sure you name it M15x on your threads (The small m denotes the older machine so people might not even read your thread).

Finally, again despite what the other poster said, yes that's a plenty fast machine for the games you mention. There are M15X owners in the main M15X thread running Crisis at almost full detail and great frame rates with just that very spec. Aion also runs without a hitch on that same machine, as does WoW.

If you are looking to do Enthusiast/pro photo editing and some hardcore gaming I would go for the M17x instead of the M15x. My reasons would be:

    - Bigger screen
    - Better graphics options
    - Better future upgrade options (Dual Graphics card options, better graphics card options)
    - Better build/stability

Wow! So there are girls :D I didnt know Roxy is a girl :p Hi Roxy :D
And when I say "not really" I mean exactly the same thing as Danlar75 mentioned. SLI is a lot more future proof.

Yup, I would say an M17x would be a better fit as well.

i would vote M17x just for the battery life

but yes that setup is fast enough for any game out because its the exact one i have and i have yet to play a game i couldn't run including crysis

It also depends on which you're interested in more.. If u prefer gaming then i would say go for M17x because it has dual graphic (SLI) or CrossFIre ... But if u like mobility and doing other stuff like photo editing and studies u might wan to get the M15x...
