    4 GB RAM installed, only using 2 of it.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605

    I would not expect it to go from 4 to 2 though...seems like it should be more like what's in the example.

    What do you guys think?

    Graphics = 2x Geforce 8700M GT (512MB)

    Maybe one 2GB stick is dead? I doubt it would only run on one..Have you checked the stick?

    With memtest86 or just pull one out and see what happens? I've been too lazy to do memtest because I'd have to walk kinda far (I'm a student) and buy a buncha CDs just to use one of them.

    the other memtester or whatever its called where you just sit there and let it go for as long as you want didn't detect anything. Although I've never really trusted that program anyway

    I could try the stick thing, it's my brothers laptop though and I'm not sure how comfortable he'd be with that.

    Also, notice all the virtual memory in the first screenshot...what's that about?

    Not sure why you have so much Virtual memory, but seeing the screen shots it looks like there Detected, try replacing one. Or if you can go into the Bios and see if it only has one Stick active? Maybe you have to enable the second stick. Just throwing that out there.

    If I were to pull out one stick (and it happened to be the good one and the other was bad) would anything bad happen?

    Na. You probably just wouldn't be able to boot. Or you'd be BSOD if that happens pull the other one out and put in the one you had out.
