I had about 3 Issues with my laptop. I am on the 4 Issue right now
Frist issue was the keyboard lighting stop working on the day I got the laptop. repaired
Second And the motherboard they installed Had a Apci Issue Sleepmode. So I ask them to repair that and make sure it support the 9800gt. Repaired
Then the Keyboard lighting work 75% Where Keyboard 1 out of 4 was yellow when it set to Red. Blue was the only color keyboard 1 that would work. section of the keyboard is from the esc to 3 key cap lock to d key Ctrl key to c.
I sent in my laptop on May 13 for repairs and still waiting for it.

That's quite a track record, but at least you have been able to get the other issues repaired. Do let us know how this one turns out.

crazy but my m17 has beeen issue free. sometimes there are laptops that go crazy, nothing AW can do but keep fixing it

Ya I know I have the Frist Generation of the M17X and it a far cry from the Issues I had with the M5550 and overheating.
Oh the 4 issue is waiting for the laptop for almost the last 3 weeks. -

What bad irishhenshin I told them where the issue lies with the Motherboard before sending it in. What I am worried about is The laptop was fitted with dual 8600 grapics cards. Currently My laptop has Dual geforce 9800 gt which I order by Alienware.
With this laptop M17x frist gen. there 4 differnt Motherboards Two that support geforce 8600 and 8700 and 2 that supports 8800gtx and 9800gt The other 2 Motherboards support Keyboard lighting. -
Its seems like a lack of communication between departments on their behalf. I just got my M17 back today, I don't know if its fixed yet, however I was lucky enough to open the box and see my blu-ray drive not connected, they forgot to screw it in which is 100% unacceptable. This company (at least the EU side) needs a kick up the hole and they need to get their stuff sorted.

Just updating.
I sent my laptop in on the May 13. They lost it and found it and now waiting for a part from (Asus motherboard) from chinia. He like they have to make it or something. Sorry to say that dont sound right.
It been a few days shy of a month and the guy should be calling me today for a update.
What I need is a laptop that works. I wish alienware will give up let me take the laptop to Dell have them look at it. Then go it the motherboard even if it work somewhat. Then have a choice to wait untel the part in and then send it in so you only have to wait 12 days at the most. Not a Month.
Is this laptop a Quanta? So I can call them and get some info. -
I've had my M17 for nearly 24 hours and I've just had to completely restore it because EASEUS's disk partitioner screwed up in the process of partitioning my disk -_- hopefully that will be the ONLY issue.

At least it wasn't A.W.'s fault.
Maybe the title should have been "Issue with partitioning software". -
