Well my m15x is back after a few weeks in transit and repair. I am happy however with the work performed my machine was not harmed in fact it came back cleaner than when it left! Also it was very well packaged to ensure it was safely returned. The install and issues I had previously are all gone (and a new mobo was installed to fix my lighting issue I guess cause it works now)
very happy the only thing that could have been better would be if they could have done it quicker!

I've always liked the LED lighting on the Alienwares and XPS's. I think it adds a nice touch.

shoelace_510 8700M GT inside... ^-^;

Well all seems well, except for one thing-my speakers! At high volumes hell even not high volumes they crackle etc argh!!!
-
Yeah... the speakers do that... but I use external anyhow and I recommend you use external too
-
I'ts cuz they installed ur regular drivers from the support cd, some are out dated!
Good luck... -
Definitely go with external speakers. I don't think any laptop out there can compare their internal speakers to decent or better external speakers.
-
To think we all spent 3400 or so and got bad speakers. I look at the fact that speakers cost so little, does it really hurt to put in good ones for the price that we are paying? Besides if the speakers are so bad, why call them High definition (Internal High-Definition Audio with surround sound)? That is a big joke in general that they actually put that on their web site. Id call it high definition distortion crackling speakers. At least that would tell the truth. Granted that they only call it that because they presume that everyone is going to hook it up to external, but do you really want to take external speakers everywhere you go?
One thing I noticed about the speaker drivers update is that it gets rid of the Realtek sound drivers. Do you think those were the better drivers for it or the new ones that they put into it? The sad part is my Creative Labs Vision W internal speaker (Mp3 player) sounds better than the Alienware......sad. -
it's not about the price of the speakers, it's about size. the smaller the speakers are, the worse they will be. why do you think audiophiles have those socking great speaker towers in their living rooms?

He didn't mean it 100% of the time. It just means that physically, if it were larger, it would be able to produce better sound.
-
(but to be fair....have you listened to or owned a bose system?) -
I was referring to Havoc's post mainly.
I've had friends that have had Bose systems. I don't use one myself, I went with the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. -
-
just kiddin....but yeah, i used to be a DJ, and got into systems heavily...
but this is way off topic....all yur fault whizzo.... -
If it helps him decide what kind of external sound system he wants to get, I'd say it's all right.
-
External speakers are great for home, but why would you need speakers if you're taking your laptop with you? Personally I don't like hearing people's movies or music when I'm at a local coffee shop, and those sound effects that are wonderfully enriching to whoever is playing the game are REALLY ANNOYING to the people who want to just sit and chat. Headphones are the happy medium

Congrats on getting your laptop back lol. Does everything seem to be working right again?
And speaking of that driver, can someone give me a link to it or even a name? I'd like to install that on mine -
Drivers (from my hive/aw) didnt do it. Can someone link me to drivers elsewhere. If I have to send it in will I need to reinstall all my games/software/windows? argh...

i think they normally swipe the HDD, yeah. you could of course get an external HDD and make a backup copy of your internal HDD, and then just restore from that
Its landed (again!)
