Hey Guys, hate to bother once again however....
I tryed to install java and i got the blue screen of death...
My brand new M17x... well, I have adobe shockwave and flash player, but i wanted to install azuerous, but it says it needs java runtime envirement...
However, i uninstalled java... Will my computer be alright, or do i have to re install my whole OS... I dont know much about this stuff![]()
thanks
i know ive heard of the graphics Antialiasing can do this if you force java to run higher, but i checked this...
EDIT: I tried to install the whole java... is there just a seperate small package (example. a flash player for java), intead of the whole thing

A bsod doesn't require an os reinstall.
Are you sure it was Java that gave the BSOD? THat is unusual. Anyway, make sure you installed the latest version and the correct one (x32 vs x64) -
not sure, but right when i installed java, and closed my internet browsers, and re-opened explorer, i got the memory dump (blue screen)
Is there some way i can find out what this was... windows was about to check this for me, however, i wasnt connected so i had to click "check later"
now it wont re-prompt
EDIT: eve been searching for hours... only thing i can find out is java version 6, sometimes has blurry fonts, due to the graphics video support or something in this manner... nothing about blue screens... so im confused...never happened before this is the 1st time -
Change your settings so when you get a BSOD the system doesn't restart. Then u can see what driver caused the problem.

hey sleeyo -
I just found the thing in event viewer... as follows...
- EventData
param1 0x000000be (0xfffff880081f1000, 0x8000000029bf9121, 0xfffffa600d323b80, 0x000000000000000b)
param2 C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
under the thing it says it was a bugcheck, im assuming this is the blue screen... any ideas? what should i do? -
you'll need to download the M$ debug program to analyze that dump. I won't get into all that here as it is a little lengthy.
I was saying to set your system from restarting automatically when you get a bsod. That way the bsod stays on the screen until you phyically shut down the system. The bsod displays the stop error along with the file/driver that caused the error.
Sorry I can't be of more help.... I need to know what driver caused it. -
It's possible, however unlikely, that when you downloaded it it was corrupted.
Or you have a virus.
But in either case, you shouldn't need to reinstall your OS unless you can't even get in to the OS. Even then you can probably go into safe mode.
If you're still having problems, I'd suggest utorrent, it's much lighter weight and imo, better than Azureus, as someone who has used both for years. -
hey guys do you know what symbol i should use for the dump file im using winDbg... when i put this dump file into this, it says something like the symbols cant be loaded becasue symbol path is not initiated... and your debugger is not using the right symbols
I dont want to screw stuff up, so im not really sure... any rough ideas any information you need please ask im trying to debugg the memory.DMP my system made when i got the blue screen
i even dont know what symbols to download.. the vista SP2, or SP1 (sevice packs i presume) i thought
vista only had SP1 so far, its what my M17x came with??? -
bump
Sorry guys... But ever since that BSOD (blue screen)... playing games now stuttering, before was flawless... (playing kings bounty, maxed settings at 1920 x 1200 -was never an issue before, with great FPS)
Any thoughts... temps dont exceed 57C (without laptop coooler)...
Max GPU core clock - 381
Max memory clock - 301
Im thinking maybe, well i dont know actually (vista driver?, video driver?, problem with Nvidia driver and java -known cause a while back i read, but said was fixed with new versions of java and nvidia with java using to much D3D)
Is there anything else i should run to check... no more BSOD's ever since I uninstalled java... I have adobe installed, flash player and activeX, shockwave player, all without issues, but when i then try to install java.. Bam!
