Don't worry moderators - I am not about to resurrect a thread, so no need for further moderator deletion this time.
I just wanted to personally thank everyone that had a constructive input to my recently closed thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...l-support-full-details-included-part-two.html and it's predecessor: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-emea-dell-support-full-details-included.html.
I cannot possibly PM everybody who actually supported me, so I just wanted to make a quick public announcement to thank you all VERY much for your help and understanding. I will no longer be posting much on these forums, for obvious reasons.
Thank you all for your time.
Kind regards and best wishes to you all.
Steve.

You know you really want the new Alienware 18 -
As fire said, get Refund + little help from your champ you will manage to get Alienware 18 all max out at around £3.5G or less
Alienware 18 would be better replacement compare to your old R1.

Sorry guys. There is a principal here. Do not buy from a company who bend you over a barrel. Enough said. I'd rather burn my money than give more of it to Dell.

Just an update for those who were interested to see how things panned out for me.
Tried to get a reason out of Dell Executive Customer Resolutions team as to why I was 'low-balled' on the replacement machine that was offered. Got told that it was primarily down to depreciation of my current machine and why should Dell cough up to equip me with latest hardware when my machine is only worth X amount.
Anyway, after spending 30 minutes on the phone to some Indian chap in the exec. team, who didn't know how to compare a gpu or cpu (his idea was to compare vRam capacity and nothing else, and as for cpu, he was using Intel spec's going off max turbo frequency of my original 2960xm (3.7Ghz from Intel) but ignored my 4.0Ghz factory overclock and the fact that it's far superior than a 3630qm that they offered.
At the end of the call, he was getting irate, he actually over-talked me the whole time....he just turned around and said "Mr. Jones, your computer is functioning as designed and there is no problem. I will now withdraw ANY offer of replacement OR refund, and you will HAVE to send your machine to the depot for further tests".
Can you believe that!! - anyway, I had already been offered a full refund, so back I went to the person who offered, got them to honour it - which took a LOT of extra hassle.
Long story short, my M18x R1 is now sat all boxed up and sat in the hallway, awaiting on collection tomorrow (Monday 29th June 2013) and she will go back to Dell and I will get a refund. Pulled my 680m's from it, triple pipe cpu heatsink, ram etc.....
I'm very sad to see 'my baby' exiting the building in true Elvis style, she will be sorely missed - gotta get used to using my Z830 now.
There will be an up and coming 'garage sale' of EVERYTHING that I own in relation to computing. Monitors, Ram, Graphics Cards, heatsinks, speakers, mice, keyboards, backpacks....the list goes on. Keep your eyes peeled on the marketplace in the forthcoming weeks - or PM me if you like. If you do PM me, give me some time to reply, as I will probably not be anywhere near as regular on NBR as I have been over the last 3 years.
That's it, folks.
Regards,
Steve. -

Mods - please close this thread. It's served its purpose. Thank you to all who offered me support, instead of questioning me.

Wow, that's insane. It never actually got resolved. Refunds are such rare cases, especially years down the line...
