And it was like 128 bucks after a customer discount!! Was there a price increase? I heard some people got theirs for 70-80 dollars.

that is the correct discount. you could of gotten it for 70 or 80 back in the day when the batteries were suppose to be sold for 100. for some reason they raised the price to 150. price rose around 3 months ago i think.

I called and it was $79. This was to the support number. I inquired about the customer discount and the guy lowered it to $71.

Can you give me the exact number you called? I'm just going to try re-calling and speaking to different people and see if i can get the 71$ one..60 bucks difference is pretty significant hah.

I think what the problem is is that i ordered my computer 2 days ago and they are tacking it onto my order instead of doing it as a separate "upgrade".
I spoke to them on the phone and this is pretty much what he said..so I'll wait until i receive my computer and then order it

Ah, that's probably it. I ordered mine after I received my computer, thus it was a "technical support" related item. Once you have the order completed then you qualify for the discount as well.

glad I read this thread! I though they were 135 (and a 9 cell for 150) 70 is much easier to swallow

Hah, is yours yet to ship as well? I am very interested in the 9 cell, i asked them about switching out the 6 cell for the 9 cell and subtracting the cost of the 6 cell from the 9 cell, so i wouldn't have an extra 6 cell primary battery, but they wouldn't do it..What are some uses for the extra 6 cell if i get a 9 cell? I don't really like swapping batteries too much..but it does mean you can carry the 6 cell around just in case

Also, i asked about the physical aspect of the 9 cell (if it protrudes, etc) and most of the people i've spoken to say that in the photos on their computer, it looks the same as the 6 cell sizewise..I guess the only way that is possible is A. newer technology makes the 9 cell the same size as a 6 cell or B. The battery bay is designed to hold a 9 cell, and a 6 cell battery just has "empty" space. I'm more inclined to think B.

also otaku, looks like we have about the same setup :) except you have a bigger hard drive and turbo memory..i wonder if the turbo memory is worth it? If it is..i might order it through tech support and try to get a discount ha

That's awesome man..yeah I will call the roswell crew tomorrow and if they still say it's 128 or whatever then i'm sure that I have to receive the laptop before getting it..And that hard drive price is awesome

    Cheers,

I second & third that !! Now I can stick with my 160GB HD and sleep well at night :p

    m15x with 250GB HD - $166
    m15x with 160GB HD + 200GB Smartbay - $71 + $238 = $309
    m15x with 160GB HD + Later order of 200GB Smartbay - $71 + ~$120 = ~$190

I spend around $30 more than a stock 250GB HD and ~$110 less than an m15x with a single order of HD+Smartbay, to get a total space of 360GB for ~$190 !! :D

*Sorry.. I just had to do the math !!!!*
Note: All prices are after the 5% student discount applied

Just called to order mine, it was $76 all together after shipping. Here is the number I called: 1 800 254 3692 And I hit 1 through all the menus.

Also, I told her that I had an m15x right off the bat, and she asked for my customer ID number.

Wow wraithers, awesome job on that!! What a good deal for so much laptop space.

And krenzy, I think if i do that they will just look up my customer ID and be like..you didn't even get it yet! give 128! So i'll wait haha.

But i am very glad to hear that it is still 70 and change instead of the crazy 128 or whatever..
Can't wait to get my machine!!!

@ BattleDuck - Hehe.. Thank you !! Just doing my small bit ;)
Glad you're getting what you want at the price you want it..

Oh and at everyone - Would this same discount also be valid on the gaming mice they have ? Or is it only on m15x specific peripherals ?
