Just got my M15x!!

Well I just got my first alienware ever. Seems pretty decent so far. The stock drivers according to device manager is " 8.15.11.8647". I'm updating right now to 195.62 WHQL. Is this the latest? On the nivida site there is a disclaimer regarding the 196.75 driver so everyone watch out regarding that driver! It seems to be causing issues with the fans.

What I think so far is nothing but amazing. I do have some minor KB flex along the bottom right...meh, but I have no dead pixels which is what I was worried about upon delivery.

This computer if very quite this far but I will be putting it to the test a later time. The trackpad is okay but the scrolling in itself is rather horrid. I am assuming there is yet another driver that would be need to be updated yes? Well if you think there is any other things that I may over look in regards to updating drivers please let me know.. Regards. If you feel the need to troll go ahead.. Its a sickness I understand.. lol

 

Is the power button a touch sensitive button or something?

 

Grats on your first Alienware! As far as the nvidia driver goes I thought that only applied to desktops? That's what I read when I had my M15x. That driver did fix my BFBC2 issue with flickering and white box problems. So I kept the driver for about a month and I didn't have any overheating issues. The flex your talking about, I assume its where the arrow keys are. Some people did take out the keyboard and bent it around to remove it or people said after a bit of use, it goes away. Mine never went away but I never used arrow keys so it never bothered me. As for as dead pixel goes, mine appeared after a month of use. Gotten a small red dead pixel in the center. Trackpad, everyone said uninstall the current Synaptics and reinstall by letting window recognize a driver for it itself. That's all I know.

 

Power button to turn on the computer? The alienhead above the keyboard isn't touch screen, you can press and feel it click.

 

There might be better solutions and updates for the M15x. After I returned mine, I'm not really up to date anymore.

They left a notice with the next delivery attempt which is tomorrow Thursday

 

Call up Fedex or whoever, They will put you in contact with the local branch the drivers out of. He probably still be in your area. you can meet him somewhere. Just bring ID. Thats how I got mine.

 

sweet man, congrats. so how do you like the silver?

 

Silver is very good so far. Just installed Spore haven't played any games on it though. I can't watch HD trailers on Apples website trying to figure out why.

 

prob need to install latest flash or quicktimes.
