I went with the skullcap even though im a wee bit afraid it will make it standout and want to walk away but then again, with a glowing head and the general look of the laptop, might as well go for broke.

This is my first laptop and i cant wait for it to come...

Nice system! I'd recommend purchasing 4gb of RAM though, and installing it when your m15x comes. It'll open up the system's potential. But it's good you didn't get it from AW, you can definately buy it cheaper elsewhere and install it yourself w/o trouble or voiding the warranty.

yea, of course im upgrading to 4 gigs. Im ordering off newegg. Im alos going to get a backpack that can hold this baby and a nice mouse and stuff. Most of the stuff on the AW site is overpriced so im getting it seperatly. Time to see if the new 2 week timetable that the new site offers will actually be true. i hope it will

Congrats on the new system, the specs are very high-end.

Good thinking getting the memory and accessories elsewhere, Alienware is definitely overpriced when it comes to that stuff. I recommend Corsair memory.

cool man congrats. I went with newegg for ram to and thought like you did about the skullcap. Sadly I couldn't afford to go with the 8800 though I did get a bigger faster HD (200gig 7200) anothehr 350 for the 8800 just seemed to much

the 8800 has double the power of the 8700 and makes the most difference in games so i took the extra hit. Itll make sure that i can play games for longer b4 i have to get a new one to play games. Im still not sure if the skill cap is so much better but i think im going to stick with it.

Anyone know how much extra height the skullcap adds to the laptop. i.e., is it going to be larger in a carrying case and such?

I can't imagine it would add more than 1/3-1/2 an inch. Not sure though because I've never had a skullcup before.

yea, the hd is so easy to upgrade that i wouldnt max it out now. Personally i dont need more than 120 gigs right now and if i ever want to upgrade its pretty inexpensive and easy.
