What i don't get is how are they going to fit 2 x 2 Gig Ram Ati cards on to the NVidia Mother board?

I have decided not to pay $1500 for the extreme CPU largely because i could hardly notice any real performance difference between quad and extreme. Mainly because of the Games I have played and Programs I have used.

Do you think i should go for Sli instead of xfire? I do prefer Nvidia but have heard really good stuff about the ATI 4870 x2 cards.

well you allready pointed it out that it would be cheaper to build but, if your what a treat that is what you are going to get!

the nvidia mother board can support crossfirex as well as SLI.

I would stick with the 4870x2's by the way that would be 4.8TeraFLOPS of computational power there!

PS: what you bought is faster than both mac's that you bought put together x2 interms of cpu... graphics... well maybe x20? lol

Thanks mate i thought i made the right choice there :) hopefully it will make a huge difference in high resolution gaming.

I am not so sure about the Killer K1 nic card because i have asked bout it here before and everyone said it was a piece of junk not worth its existence. Maybe i should cancel the Killer K1 card.

I would make sure to get a 30 inch monitor to enjoy the full capabilities of the dual 4870x2's

Ugh you bash AW then you praise them then you go on the apple forums and say that Apples are amazing. Split personality disorder?

    Haha anyways get rid of.

Ageia Physix Card (or however you spell it) - It only gives you increases in MAYBE 2 - 3 games so just ditch it.
Killer Card - Most companies that "test" this card are paid to do so. This will not help your PC out one bit and you will probably run INTO MORE PROBLEMS by having it. Just stick with the motherboard ethernet port.

I had a horrible experience with m15x as well as with some vendor that sold me that m15x. But that night mare is over now and i have moved on with my life.

BTW we bought 4 Apples in the past 3 months and Apples are just totally amazing to the female generation of my household. I am not a fan of them but they are very good product, the quality is second to none.

To me the m15x was jinxed from the start but other Alienware products are really good and of course their customer service is also very good which made purchasing other Alienware products much easier.

That will mean the cost would go up even more :)

I don't really need that extreme stuff, because if i did decide to go for that, I am sure they will be quad cards available soon and it just wont end there.

It has to stop somewhere and spoiling myself that much is quiet too much already ;).

To be honest i have had a computer sore from Osbourne Park (forgotten their name already because they are not worth remembering) from WA AUstralia priced up a custom made one, it was exact same price more or less. Because of that I 'd prefer a real reputable company that is not going to put my computer on public counter display to help their other customers with their own purchase at my expense.

Alienware is a great company -- shame bout the m15x of course that's my opinion and opinions are never wrong especially when i had one although my opinions are biased and are based on that particular one i had.

Oh man I just noticed $8000 0_0. You should just buy (2) $4000 systems (one every 2 years) and you will be better off. You can even buy 3 $2500 systems.

I can do so much with that kind of money. Granted I have an Alienware system (notebook), but $8000 is a lot of money. Go with Stone's advice and save yourself some money--- that is, unless you really want it.

I guess it's safe to say that we won't be able to provide you with any help with that system since it's a desktop and you sure as hell won't find much help on the Alienware Desktop Review forums as well.

..and even if that's still not enough to convince you, I suppose you can wait until Alienware comes out with a cheaper model of a desktop. Not too sure if this is a reliable source, but here you go:

I just want to add that since Breed is all about a new desktop, maybe you would want to wait out and see what it offers? Since you're spending 8,000 AUD  on a desktop system already

    What's is breed?

Just spoke to Alienware there is no such thing as Breed Computers - they are just animations to spruce up Alienware interests and website.

Breed is something like teaser clips from Alienware. If you check out episode 3, it does show a desktop in the latter part of the video.

No one really knows what this is suggesting. But I would assume that it is somewhat related to a new desktop chassis. I believe they've been using the same P2 chassis for quite some time now.
