    Hi all,

I am just looking into a new keyboard and mouse.

I currently have a Alienware tactx Mouse but I find it too small for my hands. I also bought a razer deathstalker keyboard yesterday but it is going back today as I have to admit it feels like the cheapest thing ever!!!! The back lighting is not consistant, its not bright enough, its extremely light, its all made from cheap scratchy feeling plastic. I am so annoyed seems like Razer make products sell them high and build them cheap. its horrid. Only think I like is the synapse software. I don't know if their mice are the same but for £65 I expected, well, more!

So what pieces are people using? I did used to love Logitech, but I did read somewhere that their software interferes with the Alienware command centre but I am not sure if this is true or not?

Anyway penny for your thoughts guys.
    Glen

The tactx mouse and keyboard are made by logitech, so there is a chance you could trick the computer into thinking that a newer logitech keyboard is actually the tactx one.

But, I have a logitech g13 and it works just fine with my computer, no errors in the lighting or anything.

    I'm currently using:

    Mouse: Razer DeathAdder 2013
    Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70

Had to exchange mouse once because it kept shutting itself off strangely enough.

Both products you can alter the light on or off so for those who dont want flashy stuff I recommend both :)

I like the keyboard that's not bad. Mouse is odd as its optical, Razers software I have just noticed that it is actually rubbish. Its heavy on system resources, it must boot up and also it keeps all your settings in the cloud so its also using the internet. so it slows down the system over all. Why cant they just keep it all local? Upload when needed.

I must admit I am still using this Deathstalker keyboard and I am getting even more by the second with razer items.

Thermaltake Poseidon backlit keyboard with Cherry MX brown switches. I have 2 of these now and they are the best deal in history on a mechanical keyboard.

I use a Razer Mamba and a CM QuickFire TK. The mamba is basically a wireless DeathAdder, which also makes it a tad heavier. They also use different sensors (Laser vs Optical) I like the shape and size, my hands being on the larger side. I was considering trying a FUNC MS-3 as well. The QuickFire TK uses Cherry MX Greens, which I like. It's about as close to a Model M as you can get in a Cherry switch.

I highly recommend the Corsair keyboards. I've owned a couple, and they are very nice. Corsair will be coming out with the first RGB backlit keyboards this year, if you're interested in that.

Here's some info on the different mechanical switch types. Useful info if you haven't tried them before. Mechanical Keyboard Guide Also, a video on the Corsair RGB keyboard from CES 2014.

I have a Logitech G602 mouse and a Logitech G710+ keyboard. They are both great, and don't have trouble getting along with the Alienware SW.

Currently using a Logitech G602 gaming mouse. It works really good and is pretty comfortable but it does seem a little bigger then most other mice so it may take some getting used to. It has lots of G keys on the side that you can program to what you want and has tons if DPI settings.

As for keyboards I just use the laptop keyboard.

I am quite liking the look for the Logitech
G510s Keyboard and G500s Mouse, Logitech also works with my Aida64 software.

    Also

Corsair K70 Cherry Red MX in silver keyboard and M65 Mouse.

I am very reluctant on Razer due to its dependence on synapse 2.0. Sometimes I am gaming and there is no internet connection and that is bad.

Hey guys so I bough the Logitech items I was looking at. There is an issue I have noticed.

If you install the Logitech software then use your mouse and keyboard, if you then decide to go mobile your then stuck with no mouse unless your brought a spare USB mouse. For some reason the Logitech gaming software cuts out your track pad.

There is a way round this which is to Stop the Logitech software from booting with Windows. You can then restart your laptop and your track pad will be working again Slightly annoying though if you forget one day to only have to reboot your pc again use the keyboard.

The other way round the issue so to never disable the track pad but when your gaming that's just annoying to have to leave it on all the time.

Does the Corsair software have the same issue? I am getting kind of annoyed this will be the 3rd Mouse and Keyboard combo I am unhappy with :(

Man, I still have my Logitech G5 Laser mouse lol. I'm gonna have to replace it though and I don't read the best of reviews on the G500S which looks like its predecessor. Those Corsair mice look promising, the one with the 'sniper' button, but I don't play FPS games all that much, and the MMO mouse has wayyyy too many buttons I wouldn't use. Anyone have comments about Steelseries?

I still have my g9 mouse. Only issue I have worn the sliders out on the bottom so it is metal scraping on the mouse pad. I still have a g9x In the box I'm saving for a rainy day. I moved to the corsair m65 and m95 from the g9, it was a pretty smooth transition once i got it all setup the way i like it. I am a claw grip guy so the m65 works pretty well.

I am very much a palm grip guy, that's the only thing that I don't like about the m65 its actually quite small... Though I do really like it and Logitech cuts out the AWCC control over the mouse and Razer needs to be online all the time so that's just annoying. I think I prefer it this way round, there isn't many other decent companies out there lol

Mouse: Logitech G9X that I got as a free replacement under warranty for my G9 that had the middle scroll wheel the bed. This is on a Steel Series 4hd pad.
Keyboard: Currently a Corsair Vengeance K65 tenkeyless Cherry MX Red. Two weeks ago a Razer Black Widow Tournament Stealth tenkeyless with Cherry MX Brown switches.

Weird cause I don't really know if I care for Cherry MX Red switches over Browns. I play fps games mostly and the fact that this keyboards ergonomics are slightly off compared to the had positioning on the Razer pisses me off. I guess I just have to get used to it more. As for my mouse setup I'm a claw grip and I would say my hands are medium size so it works for me. Also I'm not a super low sensitivity player so I don't move my whole arm or anything when playing.

The thing to remember about mice is that it's pretty subjective in what feels right. Example a Logitech MX518 doesn't feel as good in my hand as the G9X. I'm sure people with bigger hands or different playstyles will have a different opinion. The other thing to remember is that aside from how a mouse feels to you the next most important thing is what sensor it uses. Some have tracking issues, some have lift off distance issues, some have negative acceleration, some have prediction, etc. This varies from mouse to mouse and whether a mouse is optical or laser. I suggest researching to find out what you want and what you are willing to put up with. ESreality or overclock.net tend to have a lot of mouse opinions and info on there. Good luck.
