I usually clean them when I see smudges starting to form. I just use a every so slightly dampened microfiber cloth and wipe the whole laptop down.

I just use a $2.50 can of air and then wipe down with damp microfibres cloth :)

I just upend my computer and give it a shake once in a while ..... NOT while it is running of course :D
I know that sounds a bit agricultural but other than wiping down the keys when my fingers start to stick to them that is really all I do. Of course if I have it apart everything get a good clean then.

I guess it depends on your usage also. If you sit hunched over your keyboard watching movies and eating Doritos every night you may need to clean it a bit more often but if that is how you use your computer then my method works really well :)

Actually the can of air approach sounds like a good way to go.

And, if you munch Doritos hunched over the keyboard often enough, you might even find something tasty to snack on while you are sprucing things up.

Just remember to blow off the dandruff flakes first. :D

So you guys don't pull out the keys individually?

No, they are not designed removable and you will destroy your keyboard if you try to do that.

I've removed several keys (not the scissor, though) on Dell keyboards like those equipped on the M18x R1/R2. No problems for me, nice and clean.

I wouldn't remove them, the latches could break. :S
It's better to use a can of air. :p

The can of air trick is a very good way to go about cleaning a keyboard such as this. Unfortunately the keys themselves are made of soft plastic that wasn't designed to be removed. Added to that, the cost of replacing an entire keyboard is just not worth it when you take into account the somewhat flimsy nature of the locks holding the keys in place
