    Hello...

Anyone else finding that the keys get marked on the screen of the m11x after several times of opening and closing?

I kept cleaning mine but now there are some permanent marks that im unable to remove...

Maybe you should put a cloth in between the keyboard and the screen before closing it so that way it wouldn't come in contact.

My keys aren't but the little pads are leaving marks lol. I have a screen protector on it since the first day I got it so I wipe it constantly without worry.

good thing to look out for when i get mine in the mail, but yeah i planed on keeping a barrier of some sort in between them when its closed, like a piece of an old t shirt or something.

I haven't been having any issues but since you've mentioned it. It's a good idea to keep a cloth or something in between. :D

Just remember, regular clothing cloths etc are still mildly abrasive can cause scratches to the screen. Be sure to use lint free/soft cloths meant for wiping windows/glasses.

Yep, same problem. It happens when you carry it around in a bag, so the screen is pressed onto the keyboard.

I keep the piece of something that came with m11x, between the monitor and the keyboard and it doesn't help much. We'll see if Razer Kabuto gaming surface helps.

I also use that white soft cloth that came with the m11x to shield the screen from the keyboard. Also use it to wipe down the screen whenever I use it. Pretty valuable piece of cloth lol.

Mmmm so i'm not the only one with this problem, don't you think this is a serious design flaw? I mean the keyboard leaving a complete layout on the screen after opening and closing? Thats not really normal, i guess this is going to be very very damaging for the screen overtime.

I spoke to dell about this about 2 days ago, there going to call me or email me back with a solution, in that case i'm going to take your guys advice and put a linnen cloth between it. Still this shouldn't be necessary! I don't think its even build for something like that!

Well the actual screen is built behind the edge to edge cover that protects it. I don't know if you are exaggerating but an entire keyboard layout being imprinted after closing is definitely not normal...

Well my left side of the top keyboard get a firm pressure on the screen after closing it

So its pretty extreme in my case, and i know the actual screen is behind the glass, but still? Aaah wel i'm just wondering how there going to fix the problem, i think mine is a bit more extreme then yours i guess.

I've never had the problem. I carry mine in a sort of messenger bag, and I never stack anything on top of it or put wieght on it.

Cant say i've had this problem either, only marks on screen left are the ones by the rubber pads. Cant help thinking we've gone backwards in notebook design these days. 10 years ago I had a Compaq machine which had a mechanism which lowered the keys into the housing of the notebook when the screen was closed. Dont think i've seen a notebook that does that in a long time.

The two rubber pads are the only things that leave marks on mine. The whole screen imprint sounds like something is wrong.

The rubber pads attached to the chassis leave sticky oval marks on the screen, quite annoying but easily cleaned off. Yes, it's not normal to have the entire keyboard imprinted on the monitor unless i guess, the keyboard is dirty.

I have yet to have a issue, but I have been using the white cloth that came with the computer up untill friday when my razer kabuto came in the mail. Now I use that between the screen and the keyboard.

When I have my M11x off I do notice that the keys are imprinting in the dust on my screen. I can't see any physical damage on the glass. Sounds like an extreme case you have.

I also keep my lappy in a bag, with several notebooks, an external CD rom and cds. All of these apply various amounts of pressure to the machine.
