Ok, so I reinstalled windows on my m17x system and as it has been already confirmed to happen, he lights under my keyboard will not light up. Also, when in Command Center the keyboard is not detected as an option at all. I have gone to myhive and downloaded the keyboard fix, that didn't work. I have the newest version of CC. I tried reinstalling windows again and installing all the drivers in the right order. Still nothing. Any suggestions?

    how do you do that?

Edit: I'm just wondering if I've done anything wrong. I've gone to new theme, selected basic and advanced and the keyboard still doesn't come up as an option. If there's an alternate way to create a theme I don't know it.

yea tried that, still nothing. Keyboard is not detected as an option. If I hit close theme though interestingly the four keyboard quadrants show up outlined.

I got errors with the New CC, I just used the Stock one. Assuming your on Vista and talking about the "All Powerfull" since your story tells you've got a m17x. (I guess the first m must by an "M" in Capitals).

Pull battery and ac and hold power button for 10 seconds.

Power on and you should be ok....

    Hi,
I would recommend reinstalling Command Center. It would be the most likely issue. Removing and reinstalling the battery only cures the status lights lissue.

Update: As for the status lights issue, removing the battery is not necessary. Simply shut down the system and power it back on.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Ok to get your m17x lights working once again like new. you will need a file that i have that will fix the issue with m17x's. Its a script i got from tech support which should fix the problem you have with the lights.

The reason you have this light problem, Alienware's bios and command center work together to have you lights working how you would like. Since this union there is bugs when you reinstall the OS, some times this gets fixed by creating a new theme.

If you wish to have the file shoot me a pm and i will provide it to you, if you are afraid of the file then call in tech support even if your not in warranty because they will still help you and ask about the m17x file fix.
