I need the lid or cover (with the alien) for the LCD for the mALX. Does anybody know if and where one of these could be purchased? Or maybe somebody has one from a non-working mALX?

    Thanks!

heavens no. i think the mALX was a proprietary design. IMO ebay's your best bet now.

M-ALX was based off a Clevo big body, but yeah, like classic AW, the lid was custom. That thing was BRIGHT in sleep mode, lol. It would just pulsate slowly. If the room was dark and I was watching TV, I'd throw a towel over it.

I will probably try contacting Alienware at some point, but I don't expect to get anywhere that way. I don't think I have ever seen a "broken" or "parts" mALX on eBay or any notebook forums. If anybody knows a source for these or has one they want to sell for parts, please let me know.

    Thanks!

Is the MALX a 17" or 19" laptop?

I have a spare D900K shell, so if the lid looks the same as the D900K, I can sell you the shell. My shell is all blue.

By the way the D900K is the M7700/M7700a

the mALX was a 19 incher...I believe that particular model had an airbrush finish on the skullcap lid...that might be a hard thing to come across on it's own...I'm not sure if that model was a proprietary Alienware model (like m9750) or if there are other resellers who might have a lid that would fit (sans the skullcap and airbrush finish of course!)

If you're not the original owner I don't think AW will help you....

I am looking specifically for the Alienware one WITH the airbrush finish and skullcap, though.

    Anybody?

I'm sure you could have it done but it'll cost you. Smoothcreations does good work among other airbrushers, good luck!
