I've got an Alienware 17 R4 with an i7 7700-HQ, and a 1080. I used to get good FPS when I first started using it, but for a while now, the performance has been declining rapidly. What temperatures do you see when you're gaming? I had ARK open for about 10-15 minutes and my GPU temperatures reached 90C, don't think that's normal. I've got constant FPS drops while gaming on highly intensive games as well.

You sure it's a 1080? Typically the 7820hk came with the 1080. If you have a 7700hq then it might only be a 1070.

Either way ARK hitting 90c on the GPU is not good. I have run ARK for 5+ hours and the max temps I saw was 63c. [IMG]

Were your temps always this high or have they been steadily climbing? Alienware's stock paste isn't really all that good. Even if you get a good paste job at the start the paste will dry out over time and need to be reapplied with something better like Kryonaut or IC Diamond to be effective again.

Okay, I checked the processor again, guess it's a i7-6820HK and a 1080. They've always been decently high, and they did maintenance on it once and replaced the fans and the GPU I believe. It was fine for like three days, and it's been awful ever since, and it's been a few months.
