    Hello,

I have an Alienware M5790 (not currently in production).

I have had laptop insurance on it since I got it from state farm (personal article). I have it insured to 3,000. (price for which i originally got it).

My question is, if my laptop gets stolen, will they give me 3,000 towards the purchase of a new laptop of any make or model, or would I have to get any alienware model, or would i specifically have to somehow get ahold of an M5790?

    Thanks,
    Frank.

    depends on your coverage.

Some coverage only replaces what you lost... in this case, a few-year-old laptop. others, give replacement cost... so the cost of a new unit, for example.

consult state farm for more information as to which type you have... or read your insurance agreement.

You should be calling your State Farm agent, but most likely you'd get 3 grand to spend on w/e you wanted imo. They've always been really cool about claims, never a question asked, here you go kind of thing, its why you pay the premium price.
