    i need help i have the following laptop

    Specifications
    •Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7600 1.83GHz 4MB Cache 667MHz FSB
    •Operating System (Office software not included): Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Service Pack 2
    •Display: Alienware m5550 15.4" WideXGA 1280 x 800 LCD
    •Motherboard: Alienware Intel 945PM + ICH7 Chipset
    •Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz - 2 x 1024MB
    •Hard Drive: 60GB Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ NCQ & 8MB Cache
    •Primary CD ROM/DVD ROM: 8X Dual Layer DVD+/-RW / 24X CD-RW Combo w/Software
    •Video/Graphics Card: 128MB Ati X1400 Mobility Radeon
    •Sound Card: Intel 7.1 High-Definition Audio
    •Wireless Network Card: Internal Intel PRO Wireless 3945 a/b/g Mini-Card

    the problem i am encountering is that when i boot my system up the screen goes white and then blank after 15secs accompained by a beeping sound every 5 secs. i have no idea whats happening :confused: and would appreaciate some help.

    Does it show the white screen from the moment the system boots, do you get any kind of text or images before it ?
    If not, it can be a GPU failure, BIOS beeps are usually a sign of failure at some part of the system.

    yeah the white screen appears instantly after boot-up there are no images or text b4 or after it. huh and one more thing whts a GPU and how do i fix it

    a GPU is a Graphics Processing Unit, and you can't fix it.

    i think i jst got owned i opened my laptop up and the video cards conenctions have actually melted and the pieces of it are stuck to the motherboard with a mixture of some kind of plastic residue lol :D
