I have an Alienware 15 R1 with grooves in the lid. I want a skin just for the lid, to protect against scratches. Any ideas what I could use as a material for the skin? Product suggestions? Thanks.

Not a bad idea. Actually, I saw someone on the train yesterday with a translucent cover on her Macbook lid. Will poke around Amazon.

Cool. If you find something intriguing, let me know.

I'm the kind of guy who puts screen protectors and cases on my phones since day 1. It increases the lifespan of my phone significantly.

I don't think a lid skin will increase the lifespan of my laptop, but it will prevent minor scrapes and nicks that build up over time and look ugly
