Yesterday I decided to upgrade to Windows 7all 64-bit professional. A problem I had long since fixed with my vista install has returned: The keyboard input lag.

I've gone through various steps, and am attempting to reinstall the touchpad driver now, however; I am encountering an issue.

When I attempt to install the windows 7 64-bit touchpad driver from myhive the installer does nothing when I go to click "next" on the user agreement screen of the installer.

I thought it may just be the installer, so I decided to download the vista 64-bit version. That installer won't even load. The alienware extractor comes up and eventually just closes without opening the actual installer.

    Any ideas?

use 7-zip to extract the contents of the installer.

Then manually install the driver and ignore any warnings.

Also try using a vista driver. And you can also use a driver from another manuf e.g. dell, toshiba...
