I swore I found a thread on this once, but I am not having any luck at the moment. I tried all the basic searches... PS3 bluetooth Alienware, PS3 bluetooth PC, PS3 controller, Playstation Blutooth controller, etc etc etc

Anyways, does anyone have any direct-hand knowledge of getting a PS3 controller to link up to our bluetooth cards and be useable for gaming? I've got the controller to work for old Sega, SNES games via USB cable and a program called "MotionJoy" and it has instructions for hooking up via bluetooth but it's instructions mention buying a bluetooth dongle... I'm guessing this is for people that do not have bluetooth built into their system?

So the question is... has anyone been able to hook up a PS3 controller using MotionJoy or anything else? I'd really like to be able to hook this up wirelessly if possible.

    Thanks!

Id be very interested in this too, currently use a USB 360 controller on my m11x, using the PS3 controller would be preferred

I use my ps3 controller on my m11x with bluetooth no problem. Just follow the instructions on their wiki to set up the bluetooth and ignore the step about plugging in an adapter etc since yours is obviously built in. I don't remember all the instructions but I believe once its installed right, you plug the controller in via usb > go to bluetooth, it should detect the controller and adapter, you will hit a button to sync/install driver (i think the actual button says install driver). Once that is done you should be able to disconnect the usb, press the PS button and it should connect.

Ugh and I've already done everything in that video... it doesn't mention anything about setting it up wirelessly. I simply cannot figure out how to get the PC to "find" the PS3 controller when adding a new bluetooth device.

    en:install:latest [MotioninJoy]

It's as easy as hitting a couple buttons and the guide explains it fine just ignore the "plug in your adapter" because it's already in...

And to make it work in games, download the 360 controller drivers, choose the 360 profile in MJ, profit in game.

    Sup Mav,

It's in the bluetooth R3 thread. Anywhoo, still haven't gotten it to work with my R3. I think it's incapable of linking up with internal BT. I'm too cheap/too busy to go find a dongle online, and also have no need for it since a usb cable isn't that bad to use.

Hoping this should end the questioning on this topic :)
