I needed the space so I can move 6 hard drives to one hard drive and sort everything out and move them back to the other hard drives.

OMG Finally It Has SHIPPED BABY!!
It Shipped a month early, says alot about the accuracy of EDD when ordering in Iraq lol.
I'm so happy i cant wait for my sexy beast! -
congrats stupified!
-
Thanks alot im excited, now for more waiting
-
LOL
Maybe Dell should put like 90 day EDD's for the R2.
That way, when it ships after only 2 months, you feel like it came early. hahaha -
03/03/10, there was no payment to clear since it's a replacement. I'm being told it's in pre-production because the ATi video cards are out of stock and aren't expected to be available until sometime in April. I have also been told that I'm the first in the queue for the system, although I doubt that.
-
Yes. I know of other folks who just ordered this past week and the status has been in pre-production ever since payment cleared.
-
Congrats, don't forget to change the default 125% scaling to 100% otherwise everything looks too large. Unless you need the extra scaling that is. -
Thanks for the advice joker
-
I actually prefer the medium set scaling on WUXGA displays.
The nice thing about Windows now is that DPI scaling no longer looks horrendous. So I have enjoyed using it where as in the past I would rather squint or get eye strain than use DPI. -
Hey Joker, great reminder...plus the scaling tends to distort the crispness of the images, so things look MUCH better at 100%. When I first was looking at mine I was trying to understand why websites looked a bit off and the fonts were a little blurry, then realized that the scaling was set to 125%.
-
That's funny.
I don't have that problem with Windows 7. The scaling is not noticeable.
In Windows XP, yes DPI adjustments looked terrible, -
The 125% scaling makes it feel like a 1600x900 display rather than 1200p. When I took my system in to AW headquarters, the engineer and technician were both surprised by the way the screen looked. "Did you change the settings at all?" so I replied, "no, it's all stock". So both said, "hmm the scaling seems off, it makes everything too large..this is strange". So they set it to 100% and the engineer commented he'd send word to the factory to change the default scale to 100% instead. I guess that never materialized.
P.S. It's raining hard here in S. FL. -
Lol
Well, you know that DPI scaling is most likely not a high priority on Dell's list.
They can't even get sufficient stock for the keyboards on the M17x so I'd say they have other, pretty big problems.
Like I said, on a 17" monitor WUXGA can get brutal if you are using your system for other stuff besides gaming.
I found it to be a pleasant surprise when I saw how clean Windows 7's DPI scaling was. -
I went from in production back to pre-production when checking this morning.
-
Yeah it took me a day or so to figure it out. It wasn't "bad" per se...just off...like something wasn't quite right. I definitely prefer the 100% to the 125%, but I'm sure there will be folks who either prefer the large size, or just don't notice.
-
Mine has been stuck in pre-production since I ordered it 5 days ago,
I am beginning to worry
lol
-
Not waiting for the 5870's sleey?
-
what % did you manage to get off too btw?
-
That doesn't sound good. Either of you try calling the number to check the status?
Sleey0 must've gotten at least 16% off. I added up the total savings on my system (including the free backpack + other goodies I got from AW HQ) and I saved about 26%
Sleey0, did you warm up the printer yet?
-
what other goodies lol.. how did you get a free backpack
-
So i got a call that the system I returned was received and I was credited back the money. My EDD for Sys 2 is still Mar 30, which means It should go into boxing tomorrow? Does anyone know if mfg works on weekends??
-
I'll post a pic of the goodies later today in this thread. Basically they gave me:
1. free AW backpack
2. extra hat
3. AW plastic cup
4. AW swiss army knife
5. Couple AW pens
6. AW driver license holder to put in my wallet
7. Edit: just remembered, AW T-shirt
Some other stuf I can't remember off the top of my head, I got all that when I went to AW HQ to pick my system up after they captured it. It was a nice tour, glad I got to experience it. The dell supervisor gave me $100 back on my purchase since the replacement took so long so I calculated about 26% off the total price (after tax) which is pretty damn nice. -
nice 10 char
-
Very nice!!!! I want some of those lol.. -
Hardy har har!!1
lol
The clevo was cool and all but it was too boring for my taste
As far as discount, I got my 16%, then the $50 off coupon, and free NBD shipping.
I could have probably called and got the 3% DPA since they took if off the site but I figured it wasn't worth the hassle.
Overall I am happy for what I paid
-
Yeah they were really awesome about it. Lots of <3 for Dell/AW after that lol.
-
Ok I keep hearing about the $50 coupon, is there an actual code ?
-
