My M15x arrived around 11:30 this morning, and I've just had the chance to take it out of the box now.

For those concerned, I haven't noticed any keyboard flex whatsoever, nor any lagging. The wobbling of the screen is of a minimal, and is rather what is expected for a laptop. There is only one issue, and that is light bleeding through on lighter colours on the touchpad. I'm using the Aqua colour right now, and it seems to have gone and it's aqua on the right side, but a greenish colour on the left. Oddly enough, when I start it it is completely normal. I'm thinking this could simply be an issue that can be corrected with a reinstalling of the Alienware FX? I must admit, I haven't quite figured out how to turn the colours off, but I'll need to figure that out shortly.

As I'm writing an exam and will be out most of the weekend, Sunday will be when I'm installing my programs and such. Right now I am very happy with it, I'm just trying to get used to the size and typing on the keyboard! I'll be posting a review with lots of picture and video on Sunday.

I forgot to mention. THE WEBCAM IS AWESOME.

:( And could someone tell me how I switch off the lighting?

Edit: I have noticed a small problem, but it looks like a very easy fix.

Yes! Glad you got it safe and sound, Livre. Weird colour issue though; but, as you say, it may be fixed quite easily when you have time to mess around with the system a little more. Perhaps other people here have had the same (dis)colouring issue and could offer suggestions?

Hope your exam writing goes okay. Will you be doing it on this? If so, let me know how it fares with switching to the integrated graphics in order to do lighter work (as this is one concern I have about getting one of these, I want to know how well it handles general stuff and how hot it gets when doing so).

Cheers for the update, Livre. :)

I don't have any issues with my m15x. I was one of the lucky ones to not get a lemon. I'm very happy with it. It gets a bit warm, but then again, so much power is packed into this system.

You can turn off the keyboard + piping with FN + F11, to turn off the tough pad lighting you have to turn off the touch pad (FN + F12). The head and the touch buttons stay lite up.

I wouldn't do that to him. But he loves computers and tried to climb on mine and that I won't allow. I am really enjoying this laptop, and I've fixed the problem I had with the lighting, it's now good to go!

Congrats, my Canadian friend! I'm soooo glad to hear that you didn't have any major issues when it arrived, and that you're enjoying it!

You officially beat me by about 24hrs. Mine is on a FedEx truck, and the tracking reports that it is scheduled to be here "before noon" tomorrow. Close enough!

So far so good. There's one small problem with the case, but it's something that could be fixed in the span of five minutes.

Well, mine won't be an m15x review, I'm afraid. I decided to cancel my order and purchase a Clevo m570RU instead... That thing's been reviewed like crazy, so I'm not sure I'll have anything new to contribute. But whatever impressions I do record will be over @ the Clevo/Sager forum.

    Care to elaborate?

It's a little difficult to explain, but corner of the chassis seems a little looser than the opposite corner. It's not a big deal in the least.
