LoL :) Recived "Ripley-Design" instead of "Skullcap-Design"

Hi

Today when I woke up for school ... I just looked at my M17 and thought ... "does it look different than my first M17?" ... than I took a closer look and realiced ... (I normaly don't close it^^) ... its the Ripley Design! ... I had been 100% sure I had bought the Skullcap again^^ (I got my new M17 at least one month ago ) .

I was not quite sure what I should do ... I didn't disslike the Ripley Design ... so I stayed calm.

After school as I did some homeworke I wrote an eMail to a friend and than I thought I can take a look at the eMails I got from AW ...

And than I saw this:
Design und Bildschirm: Skullcap-Design schwarz
Bildschirm: 17" WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 LCD-Widescreen

WoW ... so I was right, that I bought the Skullcap-Design^^

Now I am not sure what I sould do ... I gues they have to replace the LCD because I bouth the Skullcap ... but do they belive me, that I just realiced it?

At the moment I don't realy care because it still looks great^^

What would you guys suggest me to do?

Sorry to hear about this, I will recommend to verify with your invoice, then contact customer service dept as soon as possible to address this issue.

Can I chance the Disign at home (like putting in a second videocard) or do I have to send it back?

Edit: I put a second HDD in and made it run as Raid 0 and installed Windows 7 Beta ... do I have to remove all?

If you are happy with it and it's running fine, I would let it be. I would only exchange it if it had me boiling mad but it sounds like you're calm so I would let it be.

 

I agree with Ojchillindc. If you are ok with and like it as you stated I would leave it alone. You would have to send it in.

 

You are quite right ... the problem is I am so happy with my M17 that I don't allow myself to be unhappy with it ...
and now I fear that I'll some day think it was a bad idee to NOT chance it ...
but when I send it back ... may be I am not happy with the skullcap some day as well

The video card is user upgradeable, regarding the design (changing the lid) will require to send in the system. Unfortunately, we do not ship LCDs, if you send the sysem back to replace the lid, remove all 3rd party components as it will be sent back to you configured the same way when you first time received it.

If you send in a perfectly working NB. With shipping and the removing and replacing stuff, it can quickly become a marginal working NB.

Think about that.

I would leave it be.

No need to reinstall the original OS. Remove any component (upgrades) you did not purchase the system with.

 

Yes, only if you are really unhappy.

 

If I have to remove the second HDD I also have to reinstall the OS because now I have a Raid0 setup. Do I have to remove the HDD because I didn't bought it from AW?

it was me asking what is your problem with not noticeing it ... that part was sarcastic and the other was jst saying keep it becuase i know i couldnt be with out it

 

Honestly, I would leave it if nothing is wrong with it especially that you like it! It's not worth staying without your m17 to get the lid changed . I agree that the Skullcap is more Alien, but Ripley is more professional!

 

Not trying to be mean but I can't believe you did not notice this as soon as you pulled it out of the box? But nevertheless if you don't like it sounds as though AW is willing to change it for you, do what makes you happy...

I got my first M17 right on chrismas ... but the "postsystem" was so crap ... I hat to drive 50km to get it on time!

So after I send it back and recived the new one (I hade some problems with the first one) I was so happy to have it back ... I realy didn't realiced it! You guys will think I am a kind of silly ...

i suggest u call aw and tell em to chang the order specs in their system, probably one day u need to send it back to aw for repair and thsy will ask you to send with the "original" components cuz the info in their system says u ordered a skullcap one
