If the video game is lagging, upgrading RAM isn't going to really help unless there is almost no RAM in the system to start with. You'd need to upgrade the graphics card, which is pretty much not possible with most laptops. These are no exception.

That being said, these laptops are REALLY old technology and you don't even get a warranty with them (AW warranties do not transfer to new users). The graphics cards in both laptops absolutely stink (one has the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 if I am reading that right, the other has several generations old nVidia technology).

I highly doubt either of those laptops are going to perform anywhere near what you are asking for. What kind of price range do you have? The more information you can give us, the more likely users will be able to help you find the right computer.

ok well my price range is not very much. i was preferrably looking to spend under $700 because i want a used one. I currently have an hp laptop that i got last year but it sucks for games and cant play even the simplest internet games without lagging. thats why i wanted to look at alienware because i knew they were good gaming laptops.

But older laptops, of any brand, may not necessarily be good for gaming.

I found your GW thread as well, you need to make a single thread about this in "What Should I Buy" and fill out the FAQ. There are a lot of good, knowledgable people, browsing that part of the forum and they can really help you out.

Also, check out the GPU Guide...it will give you a better idea of what kind of laptop you'll want.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm going to close this one as well. Make a new thread in WSIB and we can help you out a lot more.
