Alienware does not provide any drivers for 64 bit version of any OS. ATI does not provide Notebook drivers for some weird reason either.

I currently run XP 32bit and I want to upgrade to Windows 7 or Vista 64. Does anyone know of a good driver to use with these OS's.

I have the m5790 running Vista x64, and the drivers work with the m5750 also. I have the newer version of the x1800/x1900 atI cat/driver then Alienware, and I have the unlocked 1.19w BIOS for the overclockable T7600G-if you want it.

Vista/Win7 will install all the x64 drivers but the following: the following are both x64/x86 drivers
    ATI Catalyst x1800/x1900: 8.371 070424a-047190C (Alienware Vista x86 only Version: 8.332.0.0_030607)

Realtek HD Audio Manager and driver (enables volume knob, and muting of speakers when headphones used)
VIA RAID/SATA driver (needs to extracted to usb thumbdrive/floppy and installed at Windows Installation)

    Here are the drivers: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread207292.html
note- to use modded (unsigned) ATI drivers you will have to disable Vista/Win7 x64 " signed driver check" at startup-otherwise, it will not load.

To Disable signed driver check at startup: http://www.vistax64.com/software/212128-32-bit-process-wont-launch-vista-64-a.html

run these commands at elevated command prompt and unsigned drivers will run no need to f8 on reboot
start> in search, type cmd>right click program, click "run as administrator"> click "continue">copy/past the below command to enable/disable test mode> hit enter.

    Bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON

    Bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING OFF

note- this will leave a watermark:“Test Mode”

Some of the modded/unsigned ATI driver Installers are using the hacks disabling signed driver integrity checks at boot...

Windows Vista® relies on digital signatures for kernel-mode code to increase the safety and stability of the Windows platform and to enable new customer experiences with next-generation premium content:
    • Drivers must be signed for devices that stream protected content. This includes audio drivers that use protected user-mode audio (PUMA) and protected audio path (PAP), and video device drivers that handle protected video path-output protection management (PVP-OPM) commands.
Unsigned kernel-mode software will not load and will not run on x64-based systems.
    • Boot-start drivers must contain an embedded signature.
