    Hello,

I bought a M9750 from a forum regular (ichime) last Christmas. The machine came with Vista Home Premium, and I have clean installed a retail copy of XP on it.

Now I am having minor hassles getting the drivers installed. I know the sticky exists, and it is has been helpful. Normally, I would systematically search for solutions, but right now my work demands are frenzied. So, I am looking for a more package solution: i.e., the Alienware M9750 support CD for XP.

If anyone has a copy to spare, I am willing to pay $15 shipped. I know this makes it a buy/sell/trade listing, but I thought this is the best forum for that request.

If there is another way to approach this, I would appreciate your sharing insights. Thank you.

    Ben

I do have the support CD for Vista Home Premium.

I do not know if the drivers for Vista will work for XP.

Oh, thank you, Mr. Moo, appreciate it.

I was poking around Alienware's site and couldn't find a way to screen for the M9750.

    Thanks again.

    Ttrmig,

You can always create your own Support CD for Windows XP.

Go to support.alienware.com, then click on drivers and downloads. On the next page you will need to fill in four drop down menus with your computer specs in this order:

    1: Windows XP
    2: Mobile Systems
    3: Alienware Corporation
    4: Area-51 m9750 (17.0” LCD)
    5: Search

Here, you will be able to find all of the Windows XP versions of your drivers. To find your video card drivers, it would be about the same steps:

    1: Windows XP
    2: Video Cards Mobile
    3: NVIDIA Corporation
4: As I do not know what Video card you have, you will have three choices to choose from:
    M9750 NVIDIA GeForce 8700M-GT 512MB
    M9750 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950-GTZ 512MB
    M9750 NVIDIA Quadro 1600M-FX 512MB.
    5: Search

The only software you won’t find here is Nero, Power DVD, and BIOS updates. You should have received a CD including the Nero installation software.
In order to get the Power DVD and BIOS updates, you will need to contact the person that sold you the system and get the MyHive log in details to download that software.

    Best regards,
