Every time I boot my m17x up on the battery without the a adapter, it beeps very loudly on the screen where you press f1 to continue running on integrated graphics. Its kinda embarrassing when my alienware loudly beeps in the middle of class..

    Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, Mine does that at well.
And when I get into windows I do not see the green nvidia incon in the taskbar, that shows u if u are running on integrated or descrete.
And also I cannot turn on the 260m's, It gives me a warning that I need to connect the adapter.
I presumed this was normal ? Havent really looked into it.

Yes it lets you know that something has changed.. Same thing happens when you change ram ect.. Its kinda there to let you know that there is a system message that needs your attention..

At this time, I have not seen how to disable that beep.

Haha yeah it is kinda annoying....everytime that happened to me, my coworker would ask if I broke it....ironically, with my brick dead, I did in fact break it after all....

I have asked the bios team about disabling this. They are working on it, there have been many complaints.
