Ever since I've gotten my M17, my HDR scores have been low. I'm just curious if there's something wrong with it.

    Here's what Alienware supposedly got:
    3DMark 2006
    Customer Information:
    3DMark Score: 11,128.00 3DMarks
    SM2.0 Score: 4,632.00
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6,563.00
    CPU Score: 2,060.00
    Game Score: 0.00 Points
    SM2.0 Graphics Tests
    GT1 - Return To Proxycon: 37.63 FPS
    GT2 - Firefly Forest: 39.57 FPS
    CPU Tests
    CPU1 - Red Valley: 0.65 FPS
    CPU2 - Red Valley: 1.04 FPS
    HDR/SM3.0 Graphics Tests
    HDR1 - Canyon Flight: 80.03 FPS
    HDR2 - Deep Freeze: 51.22 FPS

    Here's what I got with Alienware's Drivers:
    3DMark Score 10927 3DMarks
    SM2.0 Score 4579
    HDR/SM3.0 Score 6000
    CPU Score 2044
    Game Score N/A N/A
GT1 - Return To Proxycon 37.299 FPS SM2.0 Graphics Tests
    GT2 - Firefly Forest 39.015 FPS SM2.0 Graphics Tests
CPU1 - Red Valley 0.643 FPS CPU Tests
CPU2 - Red Valley 1.040 FPS CPU Tests
    HDR1 - Canyon Flight 76.492 FPS HDR/SM3.0 Graphics Tests
    HDR2 - Deep Freeze 50.720 FPS HDR/SM3.0 Graphics Tests

    And here's what I got with E-wrecked's 8.12
    3DMark Score 11039 3DMarks
    SM2.0 Score 4553
    HDR/SM3.0 Score 6528
    CPU Score 2053
    Game Score N/A
    GT1 - Return To Proxycon 36.991 FPS
    GT2 - Firefly Forest 38.898 FPS
    CPU1 - Red Valley 0.648 FPS
    CPU2 - Red Valley 1.041 FPS
    HDR1 - Canyon Flight 79.481 FPS
    HDR2 - Deep Freeze 51.088 FPS

Should I be concerned being so far off the baseline on my HDR scores?

Alienware scores are usually higher then what it should be, you should worry more about game performance, thats where it counts.

    -What are your specs though?

Yeah, but that's with Ewrecked's modded drivers. Look at what the stock alienware drivers got me.

    Setup is P8400/Crossfire/4GB/320(7200RPM)

11k for a 2.26ghz cpu is not that bad i guess? All depends on the software that runs activly in the background while you do these tests.

Alienware tests the machines at a different resolution i think. mine by default scored 8400 marks on Alienwares tests, and all i did was install firefox and 3dmark06 and i recieved 7900 marks. that was average for the stock driver at the time.

of course, now i have it at 8700 marks. drivers can do a world of difference!
