It will only perform at the JEDEC specs based on the frequency.

That is the only system I know that can take advantage of XMP memory but still requires a hack (zfactors bios). You would also need Intel's XTU program to change the timings. Many people complained of instability when doing this on the M17.

    then it's no problem

Zfactor's bios problem was just a matter of finding the right CPU voltage and killing the XTU process and services once done

my m17 has been runing oc for ever since

so 'll be seeing how far i can push this system with these ^^

    yup

now comes the other bad idea isn't there a 8gb kit? cause i might not be able to afort a qx9300 soon so it would be an investment and i would adrealy have my 8gb

    Not that I've seen. Just 1066 through 1600 4GB 2x2 kits.

No, Kingston currently does not make a 8GB kit

in my R1 I was able to adjust memory timings through the nvidia control panel. Never really messed with it to see if it just locked up the system however the option was there. If it were possible, then I can't see why it wouldn't provide significant advantages. 6-7CAS vs 9 is a big improvement.

You could not change the CL, just the other timings.

The eleet tuning utility can be used on the M17x or the M17x-R2 I believe.

It could only be used on the i-Core processors and corresponding chipsets (pm55, p55, ...).

I honestly bought them because they'll look flashy more than their heat spreading capabilities. haha

it would be interesting to compare synthetic bandwidth benchmarks to CAS9 ram if you have the time. :)
