    Or do I need a new power cord? My cord will sometimes pop out when the laptop is just sitting there... its really obnoxious.

    Mine seems fine, it has gradually loosened up over time I think but it still seems pretty good.

    I called Dell and they said that if its loosening up, the power port itself has to be replaced. *sigh*

    motherboard change as I doubt the on-site tech will solder the new port to the existing motherboard. you dont want the tech doing this anyway. :(

    Well, its not covered under the standard one year warranty so they basically told me I'm screwed.

    Call back and talk to a different rep. The motherboard is covered, if its the port on the motherboard its also covered. The actual PSU and the battery are the 1 year items. Even if this is not the case, its not a year old. lol - talk to another rep.

    I guess I could always take some small rubber bands and put them on the charging cable though, then plug in the cable and use a tiny flathead screw driver to push them in tightly...
