    M 17x wont start

    hi!
    my pc just doesnt start! :( the light on the power cord swich of when i plug it in the pc and nothing happened when i push the start button! what is it ? any ideas? please help

    i took all powers things out then removed coin cell battery and rams putted them back and still nothing :(

    Try removing the plug and battery and holding the power button down for 20 seconds. Plug everything back in and try again. Sounds like you might have a problem with the adapter or power connector which means call Dell.

    well i tryed this and thank you but no luck, now that it is pluged back in it seams to be doing a weird noise like if the fans are trying to start but stop strait away this is strange... i will call dell first thing tomorow

    i called dell and they will be sending me a new motherboard ad ac adapter.

    they sure do go bad! i now have a realy expensive paper weight thats not even practical ;)
    hopeffuly it will be fixed soon...

    the parts have been replaced (motherboard and ac adapter) still not working!
    that is ed up! realy weird stuff!

    i would be happy if they refurbish it... i just hope it not my prossecor dying on me because it has been overcloked :-( then i am real ed!i just hope they wont see i did it, i unpluged they cell battry and they mb has been changed so the bios should be bak to factory settings... i hope it doesnt cancel my waranty...

    thanks for your message gabez,

    no, no lighing at all, the only light that come up is the one on the battery! and it say its full. i asked the technician to try swoping with an other processor but he "didnt have any" so out of ideas dell sayd well we will get an other motherboard(second new one they would swop) and new graphique cards as well. it doesnt make sense to me as nothing at all actualy start. by changing the motherboard the first time i thought that all power system are new so it might not be the problem, but then again i am not a technician.
    i just hope they get to fix it and i get it back asap.

    you don't have a multimeter to check the voltage on the adapter the may send a defective one, and the technician looks like he knows what he was doing? :nah:

    no i dont think he knows what he is doing... he just looked lost ones he changed the MB, he just did not know what to do :( (that is y i didnt mind sending it back to dell)
    i cant check the new ac adapter they gave me the old on back and i unfortunatly dont have the tool...i wish i could tho i realy would like to know what is happening, thanks for the sugestion thought!

    my trusty asus f3sv just doesnt quite feel so good anymore after using the m17x... and i just bought modern warfaire 2 and did 2 awsome mission :(
