I know at 1st there were some issues with getting the audio out of the HDMI output. But wasn't it supposed to be fixed? I followed the steps listed in the support section. I made sure the correct driver was installed. And sat on the phone for and Hour and 1/2 with a support agent last night that couldnt figure it out? Is there any other steps that are not listed in the support section for this issue? Or is anyone else still having problems with this? My Tv is a 46" Sharp Aquos 92 series. Oh yah and I just received my system last week. So, it was supposed to arrive with this issue resolved?

    Any help would be great.

    admiralmark,

I'm sorry support couldn't help you figure out your audio problem. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to get Audio out from HDMI. Send me an e-mail ([email protected]) and I'll have someone help you figure it out.

Steve is right there really shouldn't be a reason that your HDMI audio doesn't work. I know that some of the first people to receive the M15X did have an issue but this is the first time since that I've heard it. I would say if you followed the steps on the support page and reinstalled the driver then I would say your HDMI is defective. Crazy possiblity try changing to a different HDMI port on your tv.
"1. Open the Realtek HD Audio Manager.

    2. Make sure that the HDMI cable is connected to the system and select the Digital Output tab.

    3. Right-click on the Digital Output tab.

    4. Click on Set default audio.

    5. Confirm that the volume is raised on the output device connected to the HDMI port."

Hmmm yah kinda strange. I have tried everything stated here and nothing seems to work? And like i said a technician was working on it with me last night for 1 1/2 hours and it solved nothing? I am getting some strange conflicts when i open my Nvidia Control Panel though? It blinks and says not responding sometimes? And the option to resize my external monitor has disappeared for some strange reason? Not sure if this is indicative of something bigger? And yes I have reinstalled the latest driver for it.. Twice myself and once with the technician.

Might want to check the harware at the other end. Worst comes to worst, back to alienware goes your pc. Thats strange cause mine worked fine just do what taco said! You could even try a new hdmi cord I mean hdmi is all digital so there is plenty of room for error.

Tried using one of my other working HDMI cords. Checked all the settings for my TV. Even just swapped inputs with one of my other HDMI running components that had all the audio working... Still no good. I have two other HDMI running components. And my TV is a 92 Series Sharp Aquos...was top of the line unit 1 year ago? So having a hard time seeing it being the hardware at the other end.

Really really hoping I dont have to send it back for this. Not even sure I would be willing to? But the agents at Alienware are still attempting to resolve this issue with me... so cant ask for anything more.
