There was another thread the same as this but it is closed. Anyway, what battery life is everyone getting? I'm only a little over 4hrs on the Intel graphics.

This is when I'm in class taking notes. Sometimes I have class from 12 pm until 6pm. I disable wifi and bluetooth (enable wifi sometimes to check email or surf a little bit), disable alien fx, screen brightness on 2 (but as the battery starts draining, I go down to 1). And every hour there's a little break, and sometimes I do play some mw 2 a bit during that break. During those breaks if I don't play and am giving my attention to my friends I put it to sleep (10 minutes each). Detailed enough? or need more info :p

Ah, cool, yeah I guess Wifi off helps a bit. I'm gonna have a fiddle and see what I can get. If I get over 6 i'll be happy. When they say it has Xhrs battery life, they mean when it's not doing anything.

    Lo & behold! I charged it a bit and turned off wifi, 5hrs 45mins @ 90%

You can put the wifi adapter in power saving mode... that will probably help as well? Thus still having wifi and awesome battery life :)

But you're right they should have said 7 hours doing nothing but office 2007 word lol

Honestly I never go by the "estimated time left", heck one time it literally said i had 87 HOURS of battery life left, have a screenshot of it around somewhere. The estimate always fluctuates for no apparant reason, but on my time its around 7 hours ish.

Hey I was wondering, when you have your laptop as brightness 1 or 2, does the glare of the screen become bothersome in the classroom? Especially when classrooms have the bright fluorescent lights? Thanks!

BTW, Battery stats look great! I am hoping to purchase one

actually no not really, and I would really hate the glare... but no, the screen isn't bothersome at all. You notice it, yes; but it's not an issue. If you know what I mean, I can def. recommend it if you're planning in buying one.

Yeah, I hate glare, but I have taught myself how to "focus past" the glare.

And you know? 6hrs battery is still pretty sweet. I love this thing, I really don't miss my macbook at all. A few minor quibles but otherwise perfect.

just in case you didn't do this - the battery life indicator MUST have the battery fully drain without charging it from a full charge a couple of times so the indicator can adjust to the battery. so let it fully charge, and let it fully drain from regular use.

Disable a few things in startup and you will easily see 7 hour (or more) battery life.
