The fan is audible sometimes. It kicks in and off once in awhile. I've actually been using Intel graphics the passed day or two. Been using it for general work and music stuff. Still adore it! It's awesome that it can go to and fro so easily. I got all my games installed and there isn't any of them it can't handle. Even Crysis plays pretty well. I was amazed that stuff still performs pretty well at 1080p. Been too busy playing Perfect Dark on 360 to play PC games, haha.

I got the Alienware mouse, keyboard, and headset too. I'm trying to decide on a monitor. The price on theres sucks.

It's like they have there own little eco system like Apple has going on. I think this thing torches my friends Macbook Pros, those are really nice, but I love this little guy. I like it tons more then my desktop.

I've been using a Samsung NC20 a lot. It's an excellent 12", very compact and very light. The display is excellent, and the keyboard is also excellent. The specs, 1.6ghz Via Chrome, 1gb of ram and windows XP (yep, the usual netbook specs fodder... at the time of buying though, it was the best "netbook" by far IMHO). I preordered it last year for £300 which at the time was a steal!

It does everything apart from HD video editing and any sorts of games. Take out HD video editing, gaming (and high-end picture editing) and this thing does what 95% of general PC users need it for.

It loads up Office (word, excel, publisher, powerpoint) etc instantly. Can even watch 720p HD videos offline.

My point is, there is no need for people recommending M15x's and M17x's to those that don't need or want them!

The M15x is not light, it is nearly the same in dimensions and weight as the M17x .

Yeah, I'm very glad I didn't get the m15x. That's not very portable. Yes, it's powerful, and if I was LANing constantly like in the old days, yeah, it would rock. 10lbs or whatever and 2 hours of battery life aren't that portable.

I'm not kicking myself, hehe. I love this little machine. No problems at all so far. Perfect for what I needed. It does feel odd being a "power" user with a low end CPU, but it hasn't been a problem at all so far. The GPU picks up the slack.

    Love it!

I got the TactX keyboard and mouse, and am trying to decide on the Optx (price sucks, USB is nice). I can just close it and use it as a desktop...then unhook it and roll off wherever with it! Awesome!
