Hi I have the default N-mini wireless adapter that came with the M11x and I can't get it enabled.

in BIOS the wireless is enabled
    I reinstalled the driver.
It keeps showing disabled no matter how many times i right click enable on the adapters.

I dont wanna call Dell support because its such a hassle

If your system has gone into suspend, or depending upon your power management settings, it might be getting disabled by Windows. Try going to maximum performance mode or using device manager to disable sleep mode for your network devices.

    Has it ever worked?

    FN+F2 work at all?

(Not even sure if its the same on alienware but thats the key combo on other dells to turn wireless on or off.)

If that doesn't work, Bum wireless card my friend.

I've had this happen with multiple Dell laptops (my XPS 1640 and M11x). Eventually it just works. I don't get it, but just use an Ethernet cord and eventually the wireless will be able to connect somehow.

Don't give up on the card just yet.

Thats the kind of thing you would Definitely want to call alienware/dell about.

No wireless card in the normal condition should cut out like that. Try every software step you can (drivers, Updates, Disable all startup items, Reload the OS, Etc) because if it doesn't work you only have so long to exchange a system before you have to deal with the cycle of repair. (Call dell, run tons of diags, tech comes out, Swaps parts, may or may not work, Rinse, repeat!)

I don't mean cutting out, I mean I've had difficulties with the first time connecting to my wireless network, but since succeeding there haven't been any problems.

Well I finally bought a 8gb usb stick, installed a fresh copy of the alienware dvd os and got the wireless working again. Dont know what happened with the wireless driver on the default harddrive though :-\
