M11x Ordering nightmare need communities help on this one!!

Hey Folks,

Well I ordered 2 weeks ago and was in production the same day then I get a call from my rep today, they had to cancel my order due to color issues! (I am guessing he miss configured the screen to base color??) So today he made another order and knocked off $50bux for my troubles. So now I am getting Cosmic Black instead of Lunar Silver and my EDD went from 03/25/2010 to 04/01/2010 . FYI: this is through Dell Canada

So I am asking you to take a look at my orders and see what went wrong and hopefully the new order looks good so this won't happen again.

I dont quite follow, what do you want us to do? You can't config anything that would mess up the laptop, none of the configs are even very different.

 

Well they canceled the first order that the dell rep configured due to a color miss-match, I am guessing the color code of the 224-8342 Alienware M11x, Lunar Shadow , did not match that of the 1 320-9963 11.6-inch WideHD, No WWAN, BLK.

My guess is the monitor BLK at the end means black ??? I have no other orders to compare it to to see why it got canceled after 2 WEEKS in Production!!!

So, now the rep says the new order went through fine (well the first one went "through fine" too) I just don't want to wait another 2 WEEKS and get canceled again.

Also, now I am forced to get Cosmic Black instead of Lunar Silver because my rep doesn't know how to configure a Lunar Silver model correctly.

 

Who are you talking to? Talk to a sales rep they can config it any way you want. There is no reason why you can't get silver. Also $50 doesn't cut it for your 2 week wait down the drain. More money, "expedited" order, next day shipping.

 

Not sure what happened here, but I'd recommend you call back your sales rep and make sure they are getting this out to you. I'm not sure what they could mess up that would cause this problem due to the limited options for this box.
