    Hey guys,

I noticed there are two different keyboard types for this laptop. Take notice with the ENTER key.

The top one is for Europe and the bottom one is for North America.

It depends on your keyboard layout (e.g. UK layout, German Layout, ....). My favourite is the UK layout, thats why I make sure I always order laptops with the UK layout keyboard. This applies pretty much to any notebook, not just the M11x.

The |\ key is beside Z for UK keyboards. I think that's pretty much it.

The Uk layout also has a short shift. Finally, the biggest difference is the labels on the keys for specific symbols. E.g. The US keyboard has "@" at the 2 key, whereas the Uk keyboard has it next to the enter key. Also, some keyboards are QWERTZ instead of QWERTY.

here is a rundown on the layouts:

They come with 2 different screens as well.

One of the screens has twice as bad black levels and contrast ratio than the other, but is slightly brighter.

Not really a good comparison though teflonsheep.

The bottom one's picture was taken at a more extreme angle and you only see the bottom cornor on top of that.

Plus, they were both taken with 2 separate cameras and you can see quite clearly the bottom one was taken with flash while the top was not.

Of course since the screen is so reflective, combined with the extreme angle, it gives the screen a look of complete utter crap.

    @RAQemUP:

I wasn't referring to the pic in this post.

There are at least 2 different screens being sold in m11x.

Here are the 2 screenID's, and what i believe to be specs for each as measured by notebookcheck.net:

    AUO105C
    Maximum: 175.6 cd/m²
    Average: 157.5 cd/m²
    Illumination: 80 %
    Black: 0.81 cd/m²
    Contrast: 217:1

SEC5441 (same as the Dell 11z):
    Maximum: 193.4 cd/m²
    Average: 172.5 cd/m²
    Illumination: 78 %
    Black: 1.56 cd/m²
    Contrast: 124:1

As you can see the samsung panel's black levels and contrast ratio are nearly twice as bad.

    Interesting..

I have both the m11x and the 11z here - and they're both the exact same AUO panel (AUO105C). Perhaps the panels are region specific as well?

All i've been able to discern so far is that everyone that posted they had an AUO panel was in the US. I have a samsung and live in Canada.
