    Dear Read,

I NEED YOUR HELP (!!!!) with my poor m11x.

I updated my nvidia drivers yesterday, ok fine no problems. the laptop didnt ask to be restarted but ok everything still worked so great. i today then reboot my machine and found windows is no longer loading any graphics card drivers for either the intel or nvidia cards.

i'm currently redownloading the old nvidia to reinstall them but can anybody advise me on suggestions or any help what so ever with getting it all working again.

FYI: when i fn+f6 nothing happens. in device manager there is a windows issue yellow explenation mark next to the intel display adapter suggesting that may be the issue? and finally the only things i have installed in the past 48 hours are the new nvidia drivers and the screen drivers for my samsung lcd monitor.

any help and advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

Uninstall whatever driver you installed and reinstall the Dell NV Display driver for the M11x. If you are not prompted to reboot after install, reboot anyway. Once back at the desktop, hit FN+F6.

The Fn+F6 function only works with the dell website's driver. I learned that the hardway.

You probably didn't turn off your integrated graphics in the bios. Turn that off and the new drivers should work fine. Just that you won't be able to switch graphics cards.

    thanks for the replies everybody.

i wish to keep the ability to switch graphics cards as to keep the fan in line when im not playing games.

its annoying that we cant use the nvidia drivers becuase of the switching issue however i spose i dont need to upgrade the drivers until SC2 comes out and i need every bit of performance, by which time hopefully dell will have there asses in gear.
