    Hey guys,

Quick question, any idea why my M11x is randomly waking up and running until the battery drains to 5%? While this alone would be annoying, it does it while in a sleeve, so the temperature concerns are obvious... and yet nothing I can find in task scheduler, events, etc show anything set to wake up the laptop. Also, the power plans are set to disable any wake timers under advanced settings... confused and concerned!

I often will close the lid, machine sleeps, and I slip it in the sleeve between appointments, etc. But, on several occasions I've returned to the machine and it's totally dead where as when I put it to sleep a couple hours prior, it was almost fuly charged.

And then yesterday I grabbed the sleeve and noticed it felt oddly hot, and opened it up and the machine was running! The lid was closed and had been, and was sitting unattended in the sleeve, but the lights were on, the fan was blasting... and heat was coming out. I opened it up, but display would not turn on. This is a different and I believe different sleep issue I'm having, when it won't wake from sleep properly... but it took holding the power button for a few seconds to turn off and then pressing again to power back on. Loaded fine and all seems well, except that at that time the battery was down to about 20% from 80% a few hours ealier while it was sleeping.

    Confused... thanks for help!

ha, yep, that's me too.... we think that's linked to a driver issue, but yes, this is a different issue/maybe related but no idea.... it's done it since I bought it randomly, using 3 different GPU drivers.

The dang thing's possessed! It sleeps when I try to wake it and wakes up when I want it to sleep!

ROFL! It does seem to have mind of it's own. :D

I never put the laptop to sleep when I'm leaving it for a while. I noticed the same on my "old" Dell XPS, the battery drains pretty fast when sleeping. I assume it's due to the fact that a lot of hardware is still powered while sleeping. The only time I use "sleep" feature is after switching to IGP. :)

Instead I usually use hibernate. That shuts off the laptop.

this mioght have to do with the network card, go into it's properties, and uncheck/disable "allow this device to wake computer from sleep"

Just checked, and those are all already disabled/unchecked for both wired and wireless. Thanks though!
