Im sure many of you have seen an abundance of threads about the M11x, and I apologize that I'd have to add to that. However, I've been considering in buying the M11x since I came by it a few weeks ago, and judging from the reviews, I was simply sold. However, the main purpose of me buying this laptop is to mainly play Starcraft II and The Old Republic. Judging from some threads I saw, I believe that the M11x can handle SCII from medium to high settings from the beta (please correct me if Im wrong) but I was holding out to see if there would be any update since I dont have much use for it currently.
Until now.
Well I live in Canada, and right now Dell is offering a $200 discount on the M11x and I feel that there is no better time to buy it. However, my worry right now is if it would run The Old Republic and Starcraft II. I know that spec requirements have not been released yet for either games but I know there are a lot of tech pros here who can offer me great advice, and just judging from your tech intuition, you can probably offer me better advice than I can get anywhere else. I just have to hurry since the sale ends on April 1st...
I think that my main concern is SCII and many people are already playing the beta, so if they can give me some info about how the game runs on the M11x then that'd be great. Spec wise, I'd be getting the SU7300 with 4GB Ram and a 500GB harddrive.
Any advise and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
PS: For any new buyers, did they come to resolve the bluetooth issue by any chance?

Lol, I installed SCII and played a match about 5 minutes ago. This justified my purchase for the M11x. I cranked the settings up to ultra and was amazed at the quality. Trust me, my desktop has been running SCII with complete ease. By the way, I have the same specs you are considering getting. SU7300, 4GB ram, and a 500GB hd. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

I don't think the M11x will have any issues running the games. Honestly though, you might save some money getting the SU4100 rather then the Su7300. They both run at the same speed, the only differance is that the SU7300 supports Virtual systems. If you don't run those or know what they are, you probably don't need it. Might save you more money there. Although I have the 7300, I like it, but any little bit helps for benchmarking.

I'd be amazed if the Old Republic doesn't run on it. TOR is being positioned to fight against WoW - It needs to run on a huge range of machines.
That being said, just to repeat it - the M11x is NOT a machine to run things maxed out. It's a machine to run your games wherever you are. -
lol he has to get the system with the SU7300 because the sale config he's considering makes the SU7300 a non negotiable feature.

I bought the m11x so that i could play SW:TOR when my beast rig is being used by others.. i'm 99% sure that the game will work - Judging by the gameplay footage released so far and comments from the developers that the game should work on most systems.

I noticed that sale as well...wish I was able to save $200 on mine.
You misread it though, it was a one day sale. I hope you bought it yesterday! -
those games will almost certainly run without any issues - heck I haven't had any issues with MW2 on max settings and big animated fights.

Yea, I hope you gottt it already... deal is dead.

Thanks for all the help guys! And yes, thankfully I was able to notice the small fine print last night which indicated that I had till 6:00am to order it. I was in a dilemma because well...it was 4am and i finally decided to order it. Was able to take advantage of the deal!
However, this is something completely off topic...well the thing is the morning after somehow my safari's not working and everytime i connect to gmail it would ask me to clarify the "show certificate" thing from shawte sgc or smthing... Im very worried right now that I got tricked into some phishing scam or spyware (i was most worried for my dell order becuase when i sign on...there was no orders on my status page...thankfully i had the two emails and i was able to locate it) however Im kinda worried to use my netbook right now as I have absolutely noooooo idea what is going on. Any help guys? -
Fwong09 I think you'll be very happy with it. It hasn't left my side since I bought it.
Fits in my car's glovebox too! -
$930 CDN for a almost-maxed out M11x is amazing. -
Sadly I only had a few hours to decide for the $200 off...however it's still a great deal! in the end i ended up paying $1200 with the SU7300, 4GB Ram and a 500GB harddrive. Cant ask for a better price...now im just on the edge waiting for it...then i'd have to wait for SCII T_T ....im just crossing my fingers so that it comes out over the summertime
