    Hi guys,
Ive decided to get a gaming laptop from HIDEVOLUTION my choices are

    M14x:
    Genuine Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
    Intel® CoreTM i7 2670QM 2.2GHz (3.1GHz Turbo Mode/6MB cache)
    1.5gb gtx 555m graphics
    8gb Ram
    and everything else stock

    M17x
Everything is stock except for the 1.5gb 560m graphics card

Portability is not an issue but what concerns me is that the m14x screen is not as big as I want it to be and the GPU is not upgradable. Also with the m17x will the 560m and 4gb ram be good for most games such as crysis and battlefield 3 on the highest graphics possible. BTW I wont be able to get the WideFHD screen on the m17x PLEASE HELP =(

I would take the m17x unless you need the portablilty. 900p you should be able to max most games, but crysis 2 and BF3 are some of the most demanding games out and I haven't played either of them on my machine. If you want to be able to max graphics you should prob save some money and buy one with either a 6990m or 580m and the 1080p screen. You won't be disappointed. ;)

Definitely, whenever you can, get the m17x. Especially when portability is not an issue. For the graphics card, you can check this link for a detailed explanation on the card. And for the RAM, 4gb's fine. You can always upgrade to 8gb in the future.

    EDIT : Ninja'ed by bigtonyman..

if you wait, the prices on the machines with the older higher end cards (r-3 with a 580m or 6990m) should drop in price though I don't know by how much. ;)

Have you thought about looking in the Dell outlet? Sometimes refurbs can drop the price a good 200-300$.

BTW, if you need a desktop replacement, why not go for the ASUS G74? It also has a GTX 560M but at least you get a 1080p and such
