So I got my M15X on Monday. I started playing Modern Warfare 2 the same day, with no problems at all. On Tuesday, however, after just starting up the game I noticed a major fps decrease. I used Fraps and it showed an average of 13 fps. I'm running the game at 1600x900, everything else on extra.
    I got the i7 720 plus the GTX 260.
Today, after reading a bit more on the throttling issue, I downloaded GPU-Z
It shows clocks of 383 | 301 | 767 instead of those of stock.
I hadn't tried anything related to overclocking. And as my knowledge tells me, Modern Warfare 2 isn't a game that compromises the CPU too much.
The problem stays after rebooting and turning it off.
    Any suggestions, guys?
Without running anything except for FireFox and GPU-Z I still get those results.

Press the stealth button on your system. It looks like an odometer. They seriously need a sticky for this question since it comes up way too often.

I had the same issue when i first played COD MW2, i knew about the throttling so i tought that was it, but constant low frequencies on gpu-z, wow that was a bit of shock to me :) Just like joker said, press the worlds most unneccessary button (stealth) and everything will become fine :)

haha, now I feel like an idiot.
    thanks, really
it solved the problem, I just thought the Stealth Mode was already off :p
as for the throttling...it won't happen unless the CPU is at high usage, right?
