Apologies if this has already been covered, but so far I've been unable to find any information of this problem.

I have a m15x laptop and we've been having really bad performance issues with it on Windows 7. Getting around 5fps in WoW for example.
I have checked that it is NOT running on the intergrated graphics chip, and is running on the nvidia 8800GTX.
The first thought we had was it was running on stealth mode, but pressing the touchpad button for stealth mode did nothing. The other buttons, wireless, bluetooth etc work fine. Obviously we wanted to look into the settings using AlienFusion, but then found to our dismay that it doesn't work on Windows 7.
Using a spare hard drive, I've just done a clean build on Vista 32-bit, and installed all the drivers in order recommended by the guides on this site (excellent job there btw!). Having now been able to run AlienFusion, we were able to confirm that indeed the laptop is in stealth mode, but were unable to take it out of stealth mode.
The top row of touchpads, all function normaly except the stealth mode button which does nothing. I suspect now that this is physically broken.

Is there any other way to get a laptop out of stealth-mode?

(Of course the warranty ran out last month  )

Thanks very much indeed. Worked a treat.

Gone from 5 fps in Dalaran to 51fps.

It's just so disappointing that they make this with all the build quality of a milk carton!

Actually milk cartons generally don't break at the hinges. (They don't have any but that's not the point :p )

That's the next big step in laptop design then, folding cardboard!
