    Hey Guys
I was just wondering should a M15X out 1080p if hooked up via HDMI to a Sony X3500 (XBR6) which is 1080p. the reason I ask I it keeps showing up on the TV as 1080i

Plus has anyone else noticed if you type fast the keyboard lags behind and does not register all the keystrokes? This is beginning to drive me mental.

Any advise or help anyone has would be greatly appreciated

    Regards
    Paul

Some users found uninstalling the touchpad drivers the fix for the keyboard lag. I personally have not had the problem, so I can't say if It's a fix.

Yes, I have this problem and have sent it in to be fixed, along with other malfunctions.

An idea would be to try uninstalling the syanptic drivers and see if it helps but it didn't help me.

progressive vs. interlaced. progressive is full 1080 resolution across all lines simultaneously. interlaced alternates lines. 1080p is better.

or read the above links, written by someone who actually knows what they're talking about!

    Thanks guys
i'm to ring about the keyboard as it's driving me mental now.

Anyone have any ideas on the output issues should this not output at 1080p rather than 1080i?

the links provided above i think are a little outdated with regards to the 1080p v 1080i debate as they are 2005/2006 and TVs now can have a proper refresh rate unlike back then all TV's where stuck with 60herts (US)

Regarding the keyboard lag... If you are using an external mouse, do the problems still remain? I never had the lag, but since it's something that is almost a common feature, I was just wondering as I never use the touchpad and it gets disabled when I'm using an external mouse.
In any case, if you can't use your touchpad and keyboard at the same time, this renders the M15x a bit useless as a laptop to use on the go.

its the auto scroll on the touch pad that makes it lag i think... if u uninstall the drivers u can still use the touch pad just with stock windows ones.. which work fine... just with no autoscroll.. which u can do with any windows GUI any way.

but yer milcs if u haven't even used the toupad yet mabye u should return your m15x and get a desktop. :/ u could prob get duel GTX 280's once they come out

well I rang up AW about keyboard and there first response was "we'll send you a new keyboard in the post" :s
But they could not answer my question about the 1080p output, which was odd, but he said he would find out and call me back.

the keyboard arrived within a day or 2 i have not installed yet maybe over the weekend

but my main queiry still stands, does or should the m15x output in 1080p
if i was running a bluray on the laptop and connected it to a fullhd tv via HDMI, i would be right in thinking i should be getting 1080p??

sorry for repeating this over and over but it's really beginning to bug me :(

    thanks again guys

hmm that's odd...i have the 40 inch sony xbr2 and it displays in 1080p fine. i remember somewhere in the nvidia control panel that there were options for hdtv display modes...do you see 1080p listed there? sorry i can't tell you exactly what it says...at work right now and no hdtv to hook it up to.

Asked them should my power plug be SOO hot when plugged in - Reponse ahh have another we'll send it out in the post

I have missed key stokes when typing fast - reponse ahh have another keyboard will send it out in the post

trying to think what else they will send out if i complain about it another screen maybe?

awesome...glad it worked for you! i also agree...both the alienware sales and technical support reps have no clue about their product. i called last week to order the smart bay hdd kit, and they guy said there was no such thing. i asked him to double check and what do ya know...he learned something new...amazing
