    Hi all,

I recently sent my laptop back to AW as the hinge finally broke and cables gallore was on show, after a few weeks i got it back in a nice new case and ive spent the rest of the week updating and getting it back to how i want it (i reinstalled as i thought it was a bit sluggish).

Over the last couple of days ive occasionally smelt a burning plastic smell, im just putting it down to possibly excess glue or what not used in the recasing.

What i have noticed though is my graphics card fan is not running all the time. It used to run constantly prior to sending it away, and when i run ThermoFan it states Fan 2 is not spinning and also that the internal vga temp is 0. When i ran Vistas Windows Experience Index it kicked in and when i went to check it nearly melted my fingers to the bone (INTENSE HEAT!).

Incidentally at present cpu temp 63, system temp 57, vga skin temp 81, vga int temp.

Now, am i right to be a bit fricken catious here and call AW regarding this or is this to be expected.

Looking forward to reading your advice.

    L

    BIOS can affect this?

So would you say it's important to update the BIOS as much as possible?

I would only recommend updating a BIOS if it fixes a known issue that you have.
