I just bought a new M15x with a core I7 720QM processor. I am not sure how accurate this windows 7 system rating is but my processor only registered a 3.9 out of 10. I have another PC with a core 2 duo that and the processor registers a 6.3 out of 10. I expected the core I7 to have a much higher value. Do I have a problem with my new processor? thanks

    Should be 7.1.

Your power profile needs to be set to high performance. This should be a sticky.

    920xm is 7.4, 720qm shouldn't be so low

Did you checked it on the stealth mode on or off ?
M15x comes from factory with stealth mode on by default. Then your system is hold on around 50% of performance.
Just try switch it off and try W7 rating again (you have to refresh it).

    cheers

ShaZadam - Your signature is wrong, it is 2.8ghz turbo mode not 2.5ghz

Not sure on the stealth mode, I assume it is on. Where do you disable it? The bios?

I found it, that was the problem, I turned off stealth mode and the cpu now registers a 7.0. Is there a way to permenantly disable it? I always will have the laptop plugged in.

Next time you'll know it is good to read a user instruction ;)
Just don't touch that switch and your notebook will stay at normal mode :D
